In the mix of all the craziness I did manage to find a job and switch to online college classes. I've even gotten a lot of song writing done. I'm working at a daycare around the corner so I can work and not have to worry about finding a babysitter. I talked to Phil this morning and he's getting a lot of the finalizations done today and the album will officially be out in a couple weeks. I'm pretty excited, I'll finally have an album coming out that I'm serious about.
I have off today so I've been working on my classes. Gracie's been pretty quiet all day which I'm thankful for. Our home phone just started ringing so I pick it up.
Me: hello
School: Hi this is mrs Jackson from Belview Elementary School, is Amanda Lovato home?
Me: this is she, Is everything okay?
School: Bailey Lovato has gotten herself in a bit of a predicament and has to be picked up, she asked to call You
Me: I'll be there in 20 minutes maximum
School: thank you
I hang up and get Gracie together then head to the school. Once I get there i get gracie Then head to the office. Bailey is sitting there with tears in her eyes.
"What happened baby girl?" I ask
"Are you Amanda?" A woman, I'm assuming the principal asks
"Yes" I say
"Hi I'm Mrs. Jackson, I'm Baileys principal" she says
"Hi" I say "is everything okay?"
"Well Bailey got herself into some trouble and is suspended for the rest of the week" she tells me
"Oh really" I say while raising my eyebrows "what happened?"
Bailey looks down in shame, knowing I'm disappointed in her.
"She and another student were arguing during art class and threw paint at eachother, Bailey happened to throw paint first" Mrs. Jackson explains
"Well thank you for calling me, I'll take her now" I say "Bailey"
Bailey gets up and we head out. Once we get in the car I say something to her.
"What the hell were you thinking?" I say sternly
"She's one of my bullies and I tried to stand up for myself but it only made it worse so i threw paint" she explains
"Bailey" I sigh "you can't just start throwing things like that, you need to go to an adult"
"I know it was a spur of the moment type thing" she says
"Did you learn that from Dallas?" I ask
"Yeah" she says
"I can tell" I laugh "but anyway I know you're sorry and you feel bad but you still have to be punished"
"Are you punishing me or Dal?" She asks
"I'm going to text Dallas and see what she says then tell you" I say
"oh okay" she says
"But until then you're going in time out when we get home" I tell he
"But Amanda I'm too old for that" she whines
"You're nine you're not too old" I say
"Ugh fine" she groans
Once we get home I grab Gracie then we go inside. I sit her in her swing and sit a chair in the corner then find Bailey.
"Alright so once you're done eating you're sitting in the chair in the corner of the living room for 9 minutes" I tell her
Bailey sighs then gets up, she throws her trash away and sits down. I start the timer then lay Gracie down for a nap. I realize I need to do some more school work I get my computer turned on but get interrupted by Maddie coming home.
"Hey kid how was school?" I ask
"uh it was okay" she says nervously
"Maddie?" I say firmly
"Alright fine" maddie sighs "I got lunch detention for not doing my homework"
"Maddie" I groan "oh Bailey times up"
Bailey shoots up out of the chair and runs outside, I turn back to Maddie.
"It's not that big of a deal" she says
"You know what I'll let it slide but you better get your homework done from now on" I say
"Thank you" Maddie says excitedly
"Yeah yeah go do your homework" I say
"Whatever" Maddie says
She goes upstairs to hopefully do her homework and I finally get today's classwork done. So although I have a job and school straightened out life is still crazy and it's just busier.
