I wake up hearing everyone singing happy birthday, A huge smile spreads across my face. Demi, Marissa, Maddie, Tristan, and Gracie are all sitting on my bed.
"Happy birthday sissy" Tristan says
"Thanks buddy" I say
"open" Tristan says as he hands me a present
I open up the box to a set of car keys. My mouth drops open, they did not need to get me a new car.
"A new car? I ask excitedly
"Come see" Tristan says as he tries to pull me
"Okay" I laugh
Tristan takes me out to the garage, there's a black Mercedes Benz in the driveway.
"Holy fuck" I say and my mouth drops. I feel a sharp sting on my butt and yelp. I hate it when Demi does that.
"Watch your mouth especially around your brother" Demi says sternly
"Sorry" I mumble
"Now go check it out" Demi says
I run over to the car and get in, It's so fancy and perfect. I start it up and turn the radio on.
"the sound is amazing" I say aloud
Demi laughs and gets in next to me. Marissa takes Gracie and Tristan inside.
"You really didn't have to do this" I say
"I know but the old car was falling apart" Demi says
"thank you so much" I say
"You're welcome" Demi says "so how are you today?"
"A lot better than yesterday but I think I want to go to the doctor" I say
"For what?" Demi asks
"to up my meds" I say
"I'll set up an appointment for tomorrow" Demi says
"Thanks" I say
"Of course" Demi says
"I can't believe im 18" I state
"I know my baby's growing up" Demi pouts
"Mom" I laugh
"Hey just because I adopted you when you were 16 doesn't mean you're not my baby" Demi says defensively
"Fair enough" I laugh
"Why don't you go get dressed then meet me in the living room" Demi says
"Okay" I say
Demi and I get out of the car and I go upstairs. I pick out a pair of purple shorts and a black Demi world tour shirt. I brush out my hair and put it in a bun. I run over to Gracie's room and get her dressed real quick then head downstairs.
"Where are we going?" I ask Demi
"It's a surprise" Demi says
"Of course it is" I laugh
I strap Gracie in her car seat while Demi straps Tristan in his then I climb in the middle. Maddie sits in the back, Demi sits in the drivers seat, and marissa sits in the passenger seat. We pull up outside starbucks and park.
"First order of business, food" Demi states
Marissa, Maddie and I laugh as we get out of the car. After getting Gracie and Tristan we go in and find a table.
"What do you guys want?" Demi asks
"Chocolate chip bagel and a chai tea latte" Maddie and i say
"Apple muffin and a regular iced coffee" marissa says
"Okay" Demi says
Demi goes up to order and comes back with a lot more than we ordered.
"Why'd you get so much?" Marissa asks
"We're gonna need it later" Demi says
Marissa and I look at Demi weirdly then shake it off. We eat our breakfast then head out. I still have no idea where we're going. After driving for an hour everyone gets antsy.
"About 10 more minutes" Demi tells us
"Thank god" Maddie groans
Demi pulls up in front of a river and tells us to get out. She goes around to the trunk and pulls out a blanket, drinks, and the food. After setting that up she throws us our bathing suits.
"You can change in the car" she tells us. Maddie is the first one changed and in the water before anyone else. I get Gracie and I changed then we go in. I sit Gracie in a little baby floaty watch her splash around. Demi and Marissa get in next. After playing around for a while the water current got faster, which freaked Gracie out so now we're sitting and watching everyone. I just fed her so she's falling asleep more than watching.
"Amanda get back in!" Maddie says
"Gracie's almost asleep, I will once I lay her down" I tell her
I carefully get up and lay Gracie in her car seat, which is sitting in the grass. She's in the shade and I can still hear and see her.
"Why don't we all eat then get back in" Demi suggests
"Yeah I'm hungry" Marissa says
"Fine with me" I say
"Okay" Maddie says
Marissa, Maddie, and Demi get out and join me around the picnic blanket. As we're eating a little dog wanders over and steals Demi's sandwich.
"Hey" she shouts
Maddie, Marissa, and I laugh at her as she pouts. The dog looks amused it's actually really funny.
"He doesn't have a collar or anything" I say
"He looks deprived of food" Maddie he adds
"Can we keep him?" I ask
"No he stole my sandwich" Demi says
"But mom he was hungry" I say
"So was I" she says
"But you weren't starving" I say
"I hate it when you're right" Demi groans "fine you can keep him but you can't give him away like you did holly"
"I won't I promise" I say "come here buddy"
The dog looks up at me then walks over. He starts licking my face to the point where I have to push him away. By now we've all finished eating and nobody wants to get back in the water. Demi and Marissa pack up the stuff, Maddie gets buddy, and I get Gracie. Once we're all packed up and in the car we head out. On the way home we make a pit stop to get some dog food and treats. I still have everything else from holly.
