Bailey

My party was absolutely amazing! I couldn't ask for a better birthday. Anyway, today Marissa and Demi are going out for a bit leaving me in charge. Tristan is asleep and Maddie's upstairs.

"hey amanda" Maddie says

"Oh hey mad" I say

"Can I go to a party with Bea tonight?" She asks

"Not tonight, sorry" I tell her

"But why not?" Maddie whines

"I don't know who's hosting it or anything about it" I tell her

"Ugh" Maddie groans

Maddie goes back upstairs and I start making dinner. As I put the noodles for spaghetti in the pot I get a call.

"Hello?"

"Amanda, it's bailey"

"Hey kiddo what's up?"

"Can you come get me?"

"Of course, is everything okay?"

"Not really, I'll explain later"

"I'll be there soon"

I hang up the phone and turn the noodles and sauce off.

"Maddie" I yell

"Yeah?" Maddie yells

"Watch Tristan I have to run an errand" I yell

"Okay" Maddie yells

I grab the keys and run out the door. Bailey sounded really upset. As soon as I pull in the driveway I run inside. I hear bailey yelling stop so I run to the direction of the yells. Busting through the door, I see something I would never want to see.

"Get the fuck off my sister" I say

The guy doesn't get off of bailey so I pull him off and signal for bailey to run to my car.

"When i tell you to get off my sister I fucking mean it" I snarl

I hold him down and a cop shows up. I guess bailey called. Anyway the cop takes the guy and I go out to my car. Poor Bailey is in the passenger seat crying.

"Bailey it'll be okay" I tell her

Bailey shakes her head no.

"We'll talk about it when we get home" I say

Bailey nods her head and I drive off. The car ride is silent but not awkward. Once we get home I bring bailey inside and lead her over to the couch.

"Bailey I promise it'll be okay" I say

"No Amanda, that was our dad" Bailey says quietly

"Oh bailey" I sigh "he can't hurt you anymore"

Bailey goes limp in my arms, I look down at my 9 year old sister. I don't get why anyone would want to hurt her.

I bring her upstairs and I go check on Tristan and Maddie then go to sleep.

"Amanda wake up" a tiny voice says

"What's wrong?" I ask

"I hear something downstairs" Bailey says quietly

I wake myself up and quietly go downstairs. Demi and Marissa are just getting home.

"Hey mama, hey mar" I say

"Hey baby, did we wake you up?" Demi asks

"Mhmm" I say

"Sorry baby now go on back to sleep" Demi says

"Night" I say

"Night" Demi says

I go back to my room and cuddle up to bailey.

"It was just Demi and marissa" I whisper

Bailey relaxes and soon falls back asleep. I lay awake thinking about what's going to happen with bailey, how Angela will react...
