"okay i'm warning you, latrelle has this poster of you in one of your bikini shoots on his wall." jake laughs as we pull into their apartment they are sharing until they finish college.i laugh and shake my head, thinking about how latrelle could be anymore... latrelle? from what i've been hearing from jake, latrelle doesn't seem to have changed at all over the years. "it's a little disturbing actually" he adds making me laugh harder while we start to walk to where they stay. we walk under the set of stairs and down the small breeze way until we get to his apartment. he opens it up and i immediately hear a dog bark causing me to smile.
"awe jake, who is this?" i ask, squatting down to pet the dog. "max" he tells me, shutting the door behind him as the dog licks my hand. "awe well hello max" i gush, petting his ears. "so you'll say hello to him but not to me?" i hear latrelle let out a deep laugh. his voice has changed... it's more mature and deeper than the last time i saw him. it suits him better though. when i look up he's standing in front of me with a box of frosted flakes in his hand. the box had his name written across it in big, bold letters. anyone could notice it. jake probably still eats it despite his name being all over it. he did it to me a countless amount of times. "i've never met max before. it's only right to greet him first" i shrug, making up an excuse as a joke. he laughs some and shakes his head as he watches me stand up to hug him.
"hi latrelle" i smile as he embraces me tightly like he had missed me a lot. "the modeling certainly suits you." he laughs shaking his head. "single right?" he adds. "lets not hit on my sister." jake warns making me smile at how he had said sister. no matter how many times i've heard him say it the last two years it still sounds brand new to me. it makes me happy when he does, it's one of the best feelings to be called sister. i never had the chance to grow up with siblings and he didn't either, it's kind of perfect that our parents got together... despite how much i hated it in the beginning i couldn't be more thankful than i am now. our family is happy and loving and i couldn't adore it anymore than i already do.
"so where's this poster you have of me?" i tease making him laugh. "follow me." he throws his head in the direction of a bedroom and starts to walk towards it. "ah come on guys." jake sighs, already over us. "well...just leave me with max i guess" he adds with another sight as i laugh some and follow latrelle to the room. "right there" he points at the poster of me in between the closet and bathroom door. i let out a laugh as i look at the poster of me from one of my very first photo shoots i did at the beginning of my modeling career. "i found it in a magazine" he laughs, explaining how he got it. "want to hear something funny?" he adds looking over at me. i nod and watch, waiting for him to tell me what was funny. "jack and his friend were in the same magazine" he laughs, making me smile some at how amusing he thought that was.
"shut up" i playfully roll my eyes. "anyways... now that you're moving back, that means we'll be able to hang out more... right?" he asks, raising his eyebrows like he was waiting impatiently for my answer. "of course. just let me know when ever you're free and i'll try to work with it." i smile making him clap his hands together once, seeming excited over it. "for real? you know i missed you ma" he tells me, throwing his arm over my shoulder and looking down at me. he used my old nick name from high school. i laughed some at the thought of it. "damn and you're wearing make up now? what the hell did spain do to you?" he shakes his head before i could tell him that i missed him too. there were times in spain that i thought of latrelle. some things reminded me of him... he'd love it there. i thought of him most when i was in killarney though, he told me he liked hiking. i facetimed him a few times to show him the scenery. he said i have to take him next time.
"i can't lie, it's changed me and i've missed you too" i smile up at him as he laughs a little. "you know i show off your poster bro" he laughs even harder. "the girls that i have over get mad when i show them" he adds onto it making me shake my head some at him. "probably because they came over for anything other than you showing off the girl on your poster." i dead pan, looking back at myself. "you don't mind me having it up there do you?" he winces, the question just now coming to his head. i can't lie, it was a little weird seeing a poster of myself hanging up on someone's wall but i guess that's what i signed up for when i decided on doing all of this. "you've already have it up... there's no point in taking it down now" i smile at him. "so how many hoes has this modeling thing got you so far?" he teases.
back in spain, the guys weren't shy. they'd tell you what they thought. some were rude, unnecessary, inappropriate but on other occasions there would be the guys that were sweet and genuine towards you when they'd tell you something or compliment you. "well i only had one boyfriend?... kind of boyfriend. no hoes so far." i laugh at him. he furrows his eyebrows and shakes his head. "now wait a damn minute... only one boyfriend and no hoes?" he winces at me causing me to nod my head. "we weren't necessarily dating. we just got close through the shoot we had to do work in together. it was nothing serious or nothing that lasted long.... barely two months, i wouldn't necessarily consider that a boyfriend." i explain my reasoning and he laughs, nodding like he agreed with me. "so y'all just broke up after like two months. was he rude to you or something? i'll fly back with you tomorrow and beat his ass." he warns me, raising his eyebrows as he talks. he hasn't changed a bit, i'll tell you that. "no, it just felt kore like we were friends than a couple so we just agreed on being friends. we're still super close." i tell him. "nah he probably wasn't laying it down hood" he shakes his head making my eyes widen. "latrelle!" i laugh, playfully pushing him away. "let's just go back in there with jake."
just a filler chapter sorta w jake and latrelle;) but im at 3k reads in like a week so i'm going to update again;)
