As I got ready for the Stake Dance once again I felt nervous. This was the first time I was going to act like Shiloh was a normal person. I could potentially be committing social suicide tonight but that doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would. Noah is also coming to the dance because I couldn't bear the thought of having to go without him there.
Noah doesn't know about my plan with Shiloh tonight. All he knows is that we are going to a stake dance and that Shiloh is going to be there tonight. I'm pretty sure he invited Aria to come with us although I don't see her coming to one of these things.
When I walked downstairs my mom was waiting for me.
"See you look so much better now that you've showered." She cups my face with her hands.
"Thanks mom." I said half heartedly.
"No problem son, now go get Shiloh." She gently hit one of my cheeks.
I laughed a little under my breath. I will be getting Shiloh tonight, just not in the way she thinks I will. Noah picks me up since he has already gotten his license. I'm getting mine in a few weeks so I don't have to rely on Noah so much.
"Are you planning on picking up any hot mormon girls now that you are a single man?" Noah punches my shoulder as I got into his passenger seat.
"Why does everyone think I'm going to be 'picking up girls tonight?'" I asked exasperated.
"Who else is saying you're going to be picking up girls tonight?"
"Take a wild guess." I said sarcastically.
"Is it your mom? I bet it's your mom."
I nodded and Noah rolled down the window and yelled "Miss Carter you are amazing!" I rolled my eyes.
"I know Noah!" She smiled back.
"Alright, get out of my passenger seat, we are picking up Ari next." Noah pushed me out of his car.
"Okay geez, you don't need to shove me out of the car, Noah." I got into the back seat.
Next we stopped at Aria's house and Noah went up and rung the doorbell. Aria's older brother Lucas opened the door. I guess he was back from college. He eyes Noah as if sizing him up. Noah definitely isn't as big as Lucas. Lucas used to be on the highschool football team last year but he got kicked off the team because he got into a fight with the assistant coach. This year I guess he just decided to graduate early and get a head start on college.
Aria and two of her friends walk out of the house. Begrudgingly I slid into the seat on the far left of Noah's car. As the group got closer I noticed the other two as Riley and Madison. Both seniors and dating each other, I don't really know why they are coming to the dance but whatever.
"Hey Carter, nice to see you again." Riley smiled at me.
I used to date Riley back when I was a freshman, before she came out as lesbian. Although she dumped me I wasn't really into it anymore so we both mutually parted ways and agreed we were better as friends. I still texted her sometimes but she is really busy with being the Cheer Captain and Madison apparently.
"Nice to see you too Ri, Madi, nice to officially meet you, I'm Noah Carter but I just go by Carter."
"Nice to meet you too Carter, I hear you are coming after my position as an athlete of the year." Madison smiled a bit.
"Watch your back Madi, I might snatch it away from you." I smirked a little.
"Nice to see you all already know each other," Aria smiled.
