Our Nights to Remember

My mom had to work tonight so I was alone in our house. It seemed too empty. As the minutes on the clock started ticking away the darkness was getting a little unbearable. I paced the empty hallways in my house and I couldn't fall asleep.

I wanted to call my mom but she texted me 30 minutes earlier telling me about her busy night tonight. Apparently they had a bunch of trauma victims come in tonight and she had to work the ER. I pulled out my phone and checked the time. It was 9:58. It seemed too early to go to sleep so I opened my phone.

Me: Are you awake?

Shiloh: yeah, what's up??

Me: Can you come over

Shiloh: Noah Carter its a school night

Me: Your point?

Me: Can you please come over?

Shiloh: Even if I do come over right now, what would your mom say?

Me: My mom is working

Shiloh: Oh my goodness

Shiloh: What would we do if I came over right now??

Me: Go out, I don't want to be cooped up in here any longer

Shiloh: What did you have in mind?

Me: Whatever you like! If you want to see a movie, we'll see a movie.

Me: On me

Shiloh: Carter, you are broke!! If anything, I'm paying.

Me: Shiloh, this isn't how dating works. I'm your boyfriend, I'm supposed to spoil you!!!

Shiloh: Oh get over yourself. We already established this relationship was something different when you asked out a social outcast.

Me: I mean, you are a pretty hot social outcast

Shiloh: I'm not going

Me: What! No! Please!

Shiloh: You're lucky I love you

Me: I am pretty lucky. Now climb out your window and drive to my house!! :)

Shiloh: How about you climb out your window and drive to MY house.

Me: Oh I would except my car is pretty broken

Shiloh: Fine, I'll see you in 20 minutes

I smiled and changed back into jeans. It would be a little weird if on our first date I wore sweatpants. I grabbed my wallet from off the kitchen counter. I was not about to have Shiloh pay for me to do something.

It had been about 15 minutes when I realized my hair was probably a mess. I ran to my mom's bathroom and tried to straighten it out but gave up when the doorbell rang. I walked quickly out of the bathroom and towards the front door. I opened the door and Shiloh was standing in front of me. She looked beautiful. Her hair was hidden by the floppy black hat I had gotten for her months ago. She was wearing white shorts and a dark grey shirt. She looked beautiful.

"Hi-" She started.

She didn't finish her sentence. I wouldn't let her. I held her face and gently leaned down and kissed her softly. She made a soft stifled noise in complete surprise but kissed me back. Her arms went around my neck as she tried to pull me closer. Her hands found my hair and started pulling me downwards. I kissed her sloppier as my thoughts got muddled with whatever she was doing to my hair.
