Throughout the week things were continually getting worse. Evie and Dylan had some disagreements with the rumors being spread about them and they aren't talking to one another. Shiloh and I had a little disagreement on Wednesday. Even though she told me she forgave me she still seemed a little hurt.
In the middle of the day on Friday my mom showed up to the school. I walked into the office and my mom was standing in the doorway with Noah. I was a little confused on why he was here.
"I talked to Noah's parents and they agreed to let us take Noah up to Oregon for a few days to help us get unpacked." My mom explained as we walked out of the building.
I smiled as we walked out of the school. It was sunny and warm, truly just perfect California weather.
"Is it going to be cold up in Oregon?" I asked her.
"You might need a sweatshirt but it shouldn't be too cold. It is March afterall."
We drove back to our house. It seemed surreal that we are leaving the house to go unpack our new house in Oregon. Since neither me nor Noah knew that we were going to Oregon today we hadn't packed anything.
I threw a couple pairs of clothes at Noah. My mom kept a few pairs of my old clothes for Noah. He was over for long periods of time often during the summertime so it got to the point where my mom just took out some of my clothes from the previous summers and kept them in a clothes hamper for Noah.
Both of us emptied our backpacks and stuffed clothes into the newly emptied backpacks. In about ten minutes both of us ran downstairs to my mom where she was standing with three bags. I grabbed one from her and Noah followed my example and grabbed another from her. Then we walked into the Garage and loaded the bags into the car.
"Thanks boys!" My mom called as she grabbed a couple Diet Cokes from her minifridge outside.
"No problem Tammy!"
"Hun, come get some Diet Coke for the road."
I walked over to the fridge and grabbed three bottles and then we took off.
....
When we got to our house it was nearly 11:00 at night. Our house in Oregon was in another small town but this time it was called Easton. Easton Oregon was about 30 minutes away from Portland, where my mom was going to work now.
When we pulled into the garage I was actually amazed. The house was so much bigger than our last house. I got out of the car and looked around. The house was a little bit on the outskirts of the town so we didn't really have very many houses near us. Unlike our last house, our backyard was fenced in. However, like our old house, our backyard was giant. I looked around and our backyard had a pool. I looked back at my mom, shellshocked.
"How? How are we affording this?" I asked her.
"It's a good house however it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere. We are about ten minutes away from one of the smallest towns in Oregon. Also, it's Oregon and not California. Real Estate is significantly cheaper here. Also, I didn't want to tell you until we were here but I got a pay raise here. I'm making nearly 7,000 more dollars than I did in California."
"Wow, that's amazing Mom!" I hugged her.
"We are going to have a good life here, Noah. Now let's go wake up the other Noah so we can go inside and sleep." My mom dragged my arm.
"You do that, I'm going to call Shiloh."
My mom nodded and walked away.
I pulled out my phone and dialed Shiloh. After three rings she picked up.
