This morning was the first day of my Junior year and I could tell it was going to be an interesting year. Something seemed to be looming in the air like a bad omen. I tried to push that thought away but it didn't seem to be going away. I ended up losing the time when I was showering and was late to the bus so my Mom ended up driving me to school.

"So Noah, why did you decide that today of all days was a great day to be late?" My Mom asked as we drove to school.

"I don't know," I answered not really paying attention.

"Alright hun, what's on your mind?" My mom pulled into the parking lot of the school.

"I don't know." I sighed.

"What, is that all you know how to say Noah? Talk to me," My mom brushed my hair out of my eyes.

"Have you ever had the feeling that everything is about to change?" I turned and faced my mom.

"Oh I see, you are having an existential crisis."

I laughed and shook my head.

"Well Noah, I think you have to go to school now. Don't be a stranger hun!" My mom told me as she kissed my forehead.

"Bye mom, I'll see you after football practice." I hugged her as I stepped out of the car.

My mom smiled at me as I walked into school.

"Hey Carter!" Noah called from across the courtyard.

"Hey Noah!" I responded as I walked up to him.

"I was just telling these cheerleaders how very important they are to the football team," Noah smiled at a small freshman who seemed very starstruck.

"Not that you would know." I laughed.

Noah flushed red but remained calm and placate.

"Wait so if you don't play football what do you play?" One of the freshman cheerleaders asked.

"I play many sports my dear Angelina." He turned and faced her.

"He plays Golf and Noah if you don't get going I'm going to tell Aria you are flirting with the freshman cheerleaders," I started walking away.

The Cheerleaders laughed and Noah started walking towards me.

"Now that you are single you should date a freshman. They aren't scared of Jessica yet so they would probably go out with you," Noah smiled.

"Maybe I will." I considered his statement.

As we walked into school everything hit me once again. The annoying fluorescent lights, the loud and cramped hallways and I didn't know how I was going to survive this school year. Being 6'6 I walked mostly above everyone but it still felt really cramped.

"Carter!" Someone yelled. "What's up! I haven't heard from you all summer."

I looked around and saw a guy on my football team. His name is Tanner and is probably my best friend on my football team. We had known each other for years and then we both made varsity together so we became close friends.

"Hey Tanner, how's it going man?"

"It's going great, we have the cutest little freshmen on the cheer squad. I can't wait to meet them all." Tanner smiled and his smile said everything, by "meeting them" he meant sleeping with all of them.

In our school we have this running competition to see which upperclassmen can sleep with the most freshman virgins. It's not a great competition but Tanner is into it.
