Steven + Connie Falling for my Bestfriend

Sparing

After school
Connie sees Steven but ignores him because Angelica was talking to him. So instead she takes the bus.

Steven was getting a bit annoyed as he only wanted to spend time with Connie and not a girl from her school.

"Hmm Steven let's go!" She says getting into the car uninvited.

Steven takes her to the Big Donut quickly to get rid of her not nearly as chatty as yesterday.

He hears his alarm telling him training is now. Crap he thinks.

"I have to train. And I'm too late to take you home. Is it okay that you'll be at my house for a bit?" Steven asks.

"I prefer it like that." She says smiling.

When they get there Pearl and Connie were waiting.

"Steven, finally! Connie is always punctual and she doesn't even live here." Pearl says annoyed.

"That's something I always admire about her." Steven says then flashing Connie a smile.

Connie turns her head in annoyance. But he knew she secretly loves it.

Pearl looks at Angelica. "Who is this? We have training Steven. Not the time for a date." Pearl says even more annoyed.

Connie stands on the warp pad with her bag. Pearl following.

"You train with Connie?" Angelica asks.

"Sometimes." Steven says.

"Stay here please." He adds while walking to the warp pad.

Angelica runs to catch up and kisses his cheek. "Good luck." She says.

Steven trying to stay a gentlemen awkwardly smiles, and as soon as she isn't looking wiped his face.

The ruins
They warp to the ruins as usual.

"Okay Steven and Connie. You'll be sparing again." Pearl says.

"That's fine. I have some aggravation I can take out on him." Connie says putting down her bag and taking out her sword made by Bismuth.

They stand across from each other and as soon as they get the go to by Pearl Connie lunges at Steven.

Steven throws a shield at her and Connie uses her sword to propel herself forward into a jump to dodge it. She joust her sword at him and he bubbles.

Once the bubble is down she passes next to him twirling to be behind him.

Steven gets flustered from feeling her breast slightly touch him. She takes that opportunity to sweep leg him bringing him onto the floor.

She stands over him and holds out a hand to help him up. He takes it. "Nice job Connie." He mumbles.

"It wasn't too difficult." She says with a mischievous smile.

"Good job Connie. Steven you should never let your guard down like that. That was far too quick. Again!" Pearl lectures.

Connie winks at Steven as they get back into their position causing him to get flustered again. As soon as Pearl gives the go to within a minute she takes him down again.

"Steven! You train the most. Come on! Do it again!" Pearl commands.

This time Connie does nothing and spares normally trying to make it even causing the spare to last a bit longer but still wins.

This went on for another 3 times until Pearl calls it quits. "You have a lot of training to do Steven." Pearl says much to Steven's dismay.

Connie puts her sword inside of her bag. Then grabs her bag waiting on the warp pad. They all hop on and go back to the Temple.

Pearl immediately goes to her room claiming she had important things to do, but they both knew she was Annoyed from Steven's performance. Which left Connie and Steven.

"Connie! You made me unnerved. That's cheating!" Steven says.

"There's no cheating in sparing. You have to use your advantages. You're just mad I beat you 6 times with no powers." She says putting her hair down from her previous ponytail.

"I'll be back in 2 days." Connie says waving goodbye.

Stevens grabs her waist and brings her close.

"Cheeky girl." He says leaning her onto a wall softly to not hurt her, but quickly to show his dominance .

They look at each other determined to win while blushing deeply.

"I have no idea what you're talking about." She says smiling, easily breaking out of his pin walking to the door.

Steven catches up to her. "Let me drive you home." He says whispering behind Connie's ear. She'll never get used to that.

Connie blushes again. "Well Mr. Universe-"

"You can drive me home." Angelica says interrupting.

Connie continues to walk out of the door without Steven noticing.

"I was patient. Don't you think I deserve a reward." She says walking up to Steven and kisses his neck.

He pushes her away lightly and says,"Let me  take you home."

He looks for Connie but sees her on lion leaving. He smiles to himself.

He drives Angelica home. The car ride was silent and awkward, but Angelica didn't seem to mind or notice.

"So I'll see you tomorrow?" She asks.

"I'm going to be hanging out with Connie tomorrow." Steven answers.

Angelica sighs and asks, "What if she tries to kiss you, she's weird like that?"

At this time he was at her house. "Goodbye Angelica." He says.

"Bye." She says flirtatiously.
