Steven + Connie Falling for my Bestfriend

Steven sits down on the couch to wait for Connie when she returns in an hour or so. He turns on the tv and starts flipping through the channels when it abruptly turns off.

"Amethyst!" Steven says annoyed turning on the tv.

She turns it off again and yanks the controller. "No tv! I need details." Amethyst says laying down on the couch putting her feet on his lap.

"What details?" Steven asks pushing her feet off of his lap.

"Aww cmon. Who's Angelica?" Amethyst asks while shape shifting into a tea cup.

He sighs and tells her, "Angelica is just some girl at Connie's school. Who's also... kinda annoying but don't tell anyone I said that."

"Is that why Connie punched her?" Amethyst asks excited.

"Yea I guess."

"What do you mean 'I guess?'"

"I don't wanna talk about it Amethyst. It's over."

"So you did date?"

"No!"

"Then what do you mean over? If you don't tell me no tv."

"Ughhh. Connie punched her, I got mad at Connie, and now we're chill."

"Connie didn't think so."

"Why not?"

"I'll tell you if you tell me about Angelica."

"I'll ask her myself."

"Aww cmon! I can keep a secret."

"There's no secret to tell."

"Not even the secret of you liking Connie?"

"That's not a secret Amethyst. I don't keep secrets."

"Well let's go tell your dad that."

"I don't need to tell everyone private things about myself all the time. If it's important I'll tell you about it."

"Okayyy." Amethyst says finally leaving.

Steven starts to watch tv in peace and falls asleep in the process waking up to Amethyst yelling.

"No way! And he was mad at you for that?" Amethyst asks.

"You mean you do a lot of that when you're dating?" Pearl asks.

Connie sighs. "Pearl you've seen Safire and Ruby do it."

"Yea but they fuse. You humans don't fuse."

"We do other things like fusion." Connie mutters, quickly covering it up with a cough.

"What are you guys talking about?" Steven asks sitting up.

"Steven why didn't you tell us about this Angelica." Pearl asks.

"Yea Steven, your first kiss is important." Amethyst says nudging Connie making kissy faces.

Connie laughs and blushes.

"Connie!" Steven says giving Connie a look that said why'd you tell them.

Garnet exits her room. "Garnet we have big news!" Amethyst says.

"It'll have to wait. We have a mission." She says standing on the warp pad.

"Can I come?" Connie asks happily.

"It's more recon but sure." Garnet explains while Connie texts her parents and grabs her sword.

"This'll be perfect practice from your lesson today." Pearl says as they all stand on the warp pad.

"We're looking for a gem or more that triggered Peridots sensors." Garnet explains.

When they exit the warp pad they lurk quietly for a gem nearby.

They immediately see a gem with two Amethysts setting up some type of device.

"Ah just in time. The Crystal Gems." She says and presses a button on the device.

It immediately made the gems go inside of their gems. Steven and Connie stood confused as to what happened when the Amethyst started shooting lasers at them.

Connie immediately used her sword to deflect the lasers but forgot Steven didn't have a sword or powers right now.

Steven got shot and fell down causing Connie to run up to him and deflect the lasers shot at them.

The shooters realized lasers weren't working and pressed a button on their guns. The new lasers they shot caused Connie's sword to shatter.

She grabbed Steven's hand and ran into the trees. They heard a voice say after them and continued to run. Steven broke his hand free.

"What about the gems? We can't leave them."

"I know. But I don't have a sword and you don't have any powers. We can't go back right now."

"We can't leave them!"

"And we can't get captured!" Connie says grabbing his hand again and finding a cave to hide in.

As the caught they breath they heard footsteps.
Connie pushes Steven onto the caves wall out of sight and out her hand over his mouth.

Steven blushes but Connie is looking outside of the cave for the Amethyst to leave.

Once the footsteps ceased she let go and they sat down.

"Connie what are we going to do? They have the warp pad blocked."

"We have to calm down, find the gems, and find a way to escape on the warp pad."

"How are you so calm?" He asks.

"You either be calm or dead Steven. We'll find a way to save the gems. At least you're stuck here with me." Connie says giving him a weak smile.
