"Hey Connie." Alex starts.

"Don't talk to me." The girl responds annoyed with him.

"Listen... the weekends are just my lazy days okay? I'll work on the project tonight."

"I finished it, because one of us actually wants a good grade. Geez, you're worst than Angelica."

"Don't compare me to her. If you want I can do most of the taking when we present, I know you hate that." He says trying to compromise.

"Until you do I'm not talking to you."

"Cmon, we're each others only friends at school." He says still getting no response.

"Operation boyfriend?" Ales says nudging her.

"I mean, Steven and I are dating so I'm clear." Connie says finally talking.

"Yea yea I know, that's why it's my turn."

"Hi Chloe." Alex says sitting down with his lunch next to Connie.

"Hi Alex, hi Connie." Chloe says happily.

"Please talk to me, I've had to have one sided conversations all day because Connie's mad at me." Alex pleads.

"Sure, but I also want to get to know Connie more." She says sweetly.

"What do you wanna know?" Connie says closing her book.

"Hmm, what do you do everyday?" Chloe asks.

"Study." Alex answers in place of her recieving a scowl from Connie.

"Well yea, but that's not all. In my free time I spend time with my parents, Steven if he's not busy, watch anime, and play video games with Alex."

"Can I ask you a question?" Connie adds.

"Shoot." Chloe answers.

"Why do people call you Chloe if your name's really Maria, those two aren't similar at all?"

"That's a loaded question. To put it simply... Chloe just fits better. Plus, Maria has such a bad stigma to it." (It's pronounced like more heavy on the i than the a, like in Hamilton.)

"Yea, your kinda right." Alex says.

"When you mention Steven, you don't mean..."

"Steven Universe, yea. You know him?" Connie ask.

"Well duh, he's the most popular person in space right now." She answers.

"His is? Connie why didn't you tell me this?" Alex asks.

"It's not my business to tell." Connie says defensively.

"Don't only gems know this though?" Connie asks.

"Yea well duh, I'm a gem." Chloe clarifies, exposing her shoulder to show a very clear yellow gem.

"Woah." Alex gasps. "No wonder you're so pretty."

"My human name is Maria, but it's so ugly I go by Chloe, and you know other things." Said gem explains. (No offense to any Maria's in the world.)
