Connie ran after Steven knowing she would lose the race. She heard someone behind her and stopped thinking it was one of the gems. She felt hands grab her and hand over her mouth as she screamed as loud as she could.

She tried kicking the unknown attacker and was hit on the head causing her to pass out.

She woke up with a sore throat from screaming and her head hurting. She touched her head and felt dried blood.

Connie got off the floor and tried to exit the room she was trapped inside of. The room reminded her of being locked with Steven a couple of years ago.

She sighed in annoyance and heard the door open. "Ah, you're awake. This way." A gem that was probably a guard grabbed her arm and yanked her pulling into a hallway.

The gem threw her into a room and left. She immediately saw Gneiss and hugged her. "Where are we?" Connie asked rubbing her arm that she knew was going to bruise.

"We're on my planet." Gneiss answered frustrated.

"Did you kidnap me?" Connie asked annoyed.

"Stars no. My sister you here. After I told her I didn't want that." Gneiss answered rubbing her temple.

"Just slow down and tell me everything." Connie said.

"I had to come home and rule. My sister wants to use my-our research to create gems out of humans and have them follow our command. I told her it was dangerous and that's why I was working with you. So... she's probably going to test it on you. Which is why we can not make it." Gneiss explains quickly.

"Can't you just take me back home?" Connie asked

"No- she'd just take you or someone else again. We have to destroy our research." Gneiss said.

"Wouldn't she just make you try again?" Connie asked.

"Precisely, we have to destroy it and create something else."

"Wait- didn't the diamonds stop their dictatorship?"

"Don't be naive. We all liked taking orders, so we decided to create our own dictatorship." Gneiss explained as she started working.

"So what are we working on?" Connie asked.

"Well... I always wanted new powers so we can work on that." Gneiss suggested.

Connie woke up hearing a door open. Gneiss stood in the door frame ushering her to follow him. She didn't make any noise and followed quietly. They stopped at a deep hole.

Connie looked at Gneiss puzzled and felt a sharp pain in her neck and a push.

Steven's House
Steven went to sleep trying to contact Connie but only saw her on the ground unconscious. He sat up knowing he couldn't fall asleep with her missing. He went to the kitchen to get a glass of water and saw the gems on the warp pad.

"S-Steven!" Pearl says nervously.

"We're leaving to get Connie." Garnet says.

"You were gonna leave without me?" Steven asks.

"N-no..." Pearl says.

"Yes." Garnet says at the same time as Pearls no.

"Is this because of what the note says." Steven asks.
