Angelica's POV

I wake up and think about how much I hate school. Yesterday my mom let me stay home due to cramps but I know I have to go today.

I begrudgingly get up and get ready for the day. I take a quick shower, brush my teeth, flat iron my hair, and put on causal makeup.

I look inside of my closet and pick out my uniform. A crop top with a collar that goes just low enough, a pencil skirt, and high tops. It's the cutest uniform I really have. I step out of my house and get into my mom's car.

"Any plans today?" She asks starting the car.

"Not really. I'm probably going to hang out with Steven after school." I say.

"Who's that?"

"Steven's my soon to be boyfriend. I'm honestly only going to date him to annoy Connie." I explain.

"Connie likes him?" My mom asks.

"He's way out of her league. That wanna be junior doesn't deserve him." I say annoyed.

We get to school and I get out of the car after saying a brief goodbye to my mom. Unfortunately, I have science first, which I'm on the brink of failing.

I slowly walk to class to drag it out and enter right as the bell rings. I spot my friend Kayla and sit next to her.

At lunch I sit next to Kayla and Su'maya. We talk about our classes and they talk about their boyfriends.

Even through the crowded loud cafeteria I could hear Connie and some guy. "Guys I can still Connie crying about Steven. Watch my seat?" I ask standing up walking to her table.

I sit next to the guy and he rolls his eyes. "Connie, dear. Could you please do us all a favor and stop drooling over Steven. I'm sorry to say- well not really-"

She cuts me off and asks what I want. "I want you to shut up. You think you're so smart but I see through you and also... he doesn't like you." I explain.

"Is that why he kissed me?" She asks sarcastically.

"Stop lying to yourself dear." I say blowing her a kiss.

I get up and hear her scoff. I laugh to myself and go back to my table.

At the end of the day I see Connie go to the bathroom to get dressed so I walk to where Steven usually is. He was waiting outside of his car scrolling on his phone. I move his hand and kiss him. He's obviously inexperienced because he wasn't kissing back and didn't have his arms around me.

I break off the kiss and lean on the car. "Don't worry you'll get more practice." I say.

Steven doesn't really react and looks more annoyed but calm and takes a long sigh. He's weird but hot.

I hardly notice Connie looking at me with fire in her eyes. "Hello de-" I start.

She looked at me and punched me, in the mouth.

I feel pain and blood trickle out of my mouth and I start to fall but feel warm hands on my waist holding me up. It was Steven. I blush and he kisses me quickly and then grab Connie's arm pulling her into his car.

My mouth stops bleeding and the pain ceases. I wipe the blood and see Steven give an angry look at Connie. "I'm so sorry about Connie." He says.

"How'd you fix my mouth?" I ask confused.

"It's um a gem thing. I'm going to take Connie home." He looks at me awkwardly and gets into the car.

Steven looks at Connie annoyed. "Ugh Connie why'd you do that?" He asks.

"Steven... she deserved it. That's all I'm going to say." Connie explains.

"What if I actually liked her and you just sucker punched her in the face. That's not what your training is for!"

Connie gives Steven a look that says you better not have liked her.

"Connie that's not the point!" He says knowing what the look meant.

Connie sighs. "I'm sorry for giving Angelica a long overdue punch." She says sarcastically.

Steven gives her a look that tells her he's serious.

"We can't just punch someone who gets on our nerves. That's not how problems get resolved." Steven says with a sigh.

"Steven you live in some world where everyone is good. If I'm tired of a person like her I'm going to remind her of place. Sometimes talking doesn't solve anything."

"And who gets to decide people's place? Are you going to punch me every time we don't get along?"

"I'm going to agree to disagree here Steven. I can agree that it could be wrong to hit her like that. I can also agree she deserved it."

Steven sighed knowing that was the best he was going to get out of her. "Could you please apologize to her?"

Connie sighs and rolls but nods.

Once Steven calmed down a bit he thought about the memory of Angelica getting punched. It wasn't right but was a bit amusing to watch. Connie just have hit her really hard for blood to come out.

I can admit it is kind of sweet Connie punched Angelica for kissing me. Or maybe it was a lot of things? He's snapped out of his thinking from Connie speaking.

"So ahem you and Angelica?" She says in a teasing way.

Steven groans. "Don't... talk like we're a thing."

"I mean... you did kiss her. And blushed at her at least twice." Connie says with a smirk and eyebrow.

"I only kissed her because you punched her which wasn't right. And also let me see a guy flirt with you and not naturally blush." Steven says.

"Will do. I've got to try that out." Connie says getting out of the car to enter her house.

"Wait don't actually do that Connie! Connie?" Steven called from the car, realizing that wouldn't be funny.

Connie gave Steven a wink before heading inside. Steven blushes and slightly rolls his eyes smiling. That girl.
