Car
After Connie left, Steven decided to visit his father. Ever since Homeworld was an idea the gems have spent a lot of their free time building and now running it, so Steven had a lot of free time. The only thing to do was think, which wasn't Steven's favorite activity.
"Hey dad!" Steven says to his father lounging in a chair.
"What's up Stuball?" Greg asks.
"Nothing much. I need some advice though." Steven says sitting next to his dad. He had always been close to his dad to talk about anything.
"You need another talk about puberty? What you're going through-" Greg starts.
"No! That's not why I'm here." Steven says cutting his dad off quickly. They were close enough to talk about almost anything.
"Well, then you're finally ready to talk about Connie?" His dad asks giving another guess.
"I never gave you a name?" Steven says confused.
"You don't need to, you both are all-"
Steven coughs loudly. "Yea uh hu sure. Anyway, what should I do? I know she likes me but she won't date me until her parents let her date. And you know how strict they are. I don't want to wait until she's 18."
"Hmmm, that is quite the problem. Why don't you just ask her parents?" Greg asks.
"You can do that? Why didn't I think of that?" Steven asks himself getting up.
"Slow your role bud. You have to make sure they are home first." Greg says.
Steven sits down and goes on his phone to text Connie.

When Connie entered the house it was empty. She was expecting a lecture. She immediately dashed to the phone to clear the calls of her absence. She sighed of relief that they were still there and she was free. Looking at the clock she decided to get ready for violin practice.
Connie got ready quickly and wanted to wait for her parents to come home to get a ride to practice. She decided she needed to walk after 15 minutes of waiting, thinking about how late she was going to be.
As she was about to walk to practice she saw her parents parking.
"Sorry we're late Connie. Your father's car broke down and we went to the grocery store to pick up some ingredients for dinner." Priyanka explained.
Connie walked over to the trunk and helped put the groceries into the house. "I'll drop you off to violin practice Connie." Doug offered.
Connie got inside of the car and as if on cue got a message from Steven.
Steven: Hey Berry, are your parents home?
Connie: Yea but I can't hang out; violin practice.
Steven: Okay thanks!
The last message kind of confuses Connie but she ignores it and talks about her fake day to her father.

After Doug drops off Connie at violin practice he drives home and starts to help Priyanka make dinner. They had just finished making the sides and were now waiting for the chicken to finishing cooking in the over.
Satisfied with their work they started to watch tv until they heard a knock on their door. Doug got up to get it since he was closes to the door.
"Ah Mr. Universe, what can I do for you?" He asks the young boy at their door.
"Actually, I wanted to...talk to you." Steven says nervously.
"Let him in Doug. It's probably for Connie's birthday party." Priyanka says.
Steven wanted to interject but Ms. Maheswaran had already started talking. He was a bit confused as Connie's birthday wasn't for several months.
Steven sat in the armchair while Priyanka told him the details.
"Then we're taking her out of state to visit her grandma and cousins for her party. The theme will be formal. By 9 the party should be over and Connie will stay the weekend playing board games or such with her cousins." Priyanka explains.
Steven furrowed his eyebrows slightly. Connie's never talked about her cousins. Meaning she probably did not want to stay with them for her birthday.
"Did you invite any of her school friends?" Steven asks.
"No, not yet."
"Has Connie talked about missing her cousins?"
"No, but I'm sure she'll love it."
Steven sighs thinking she probably will not. "Just a suggestion; maybe you hosted a smaller party. With people she wants to invite. You can even do it where we had my birthday." Steven suggest.
"I'll ask Connie which she would prefer." Doug says.
"Well, that was a nice suggestion. I'm glad you stopped by to input." Priyanka says standing up.
"Actually I wanted to talk to you about something else." Steven says quickly. Priyanka sits down with a puzzled look on her face.
"I wanted to know if... well if you're able to..." Steven starts nervously.
"I wanted to know if I could date Connie." Steven blurts out to the Maheswarans.
They sit there blankly in uncomfortable silence, thinking.
"Well no." Priyanka says after a few excruciating moments for Steven.
"Connie could have just kept it a secret, but she wanted to wait for your approval. Do you not trust her?"
"It's not that we don't trust her..." Doug starts.
"You trust her to help save the planet, but not date someone?" Steven questioned.
"I trust Steven and Connie." Doug says shrugging getting a dirty look from his wife.
"I'm sure you'll treat her fine, but to what end? First, she's fighting monsters, then dating, then gone?" Priyanka says standing up.
Doug stands up to comfort his wife. "She's not going to leave anytime soon, we've still got at least 3 years."
Priyanka sits and sighs. "You may." Those words shocked Steven and Doug.
"I better not see any funny business! And if you treat her any less of a gentlemen I'll-" Doug starts and stopped feeling a hand on his shoulder from his wife.
He seemed okay with Connie dating but not excited about it.
Steven sat happily. "Thank you so much!" He says before waving goodbye dashing out of the door.
