BLUE

I walked into Rex and my room to find Rex lounging on the bed. He smiled at me.

“How was your day?” He asked.

I grunted and dropped my bag by the door.

“Bad, huh?”

I looked up at him and walked into the bathroom. I turned on the cold water and dunked my head under it, letting the frigid water run into my face.

“Man, it must’ve been killer.” He stated, coming up behind me and patting my back. “Do you want a hug?” he asked.

I moaned in protest. Rex pulled me to his side. I rested my head on his chest. Neither of us cared about the fact that my hair was soaked nor that it was soaking his shirt. He patted my head like I was a small child. I closed my eyes and let him carry me over to the bed. He put a towel down on the pillow and placed me under the sheets, covering my body and tucking me in. I sighed in content and fell asleep quickly.

Rex woke me up what felt like minutes later. I groaned and rolled over to look at the clock. 6 pm.

“Uggggggggg,” I complained. Rex smirked.

“C’mon, sleeping beauty, time to get up and go have dinner.”

I groaned again, but got out of the comforting embrace of the warm sheets. I glanced out of the window, but had to do a double take as I saw a sleek black wolf with ice blue eyes staring right at me.

“Oh my god.” I breathed, frozen to the spot.

“What?” Rex asked, his brow furrowed.

“W-Wolf…” I said, pointing at the wolf. Its ears perked and it cocked its head, still staring at me with those unnervingly intelligent blue eyes.

Rex shrugged. “It’s probably someone’s lost dog.” He said. “Don’t worry about it.”

I glanced at him, then back at the wolf. It had lain down, its front paws crossed over the other. It licked its nose and rested its head on its paws. I looked away and gulped.

My phone buzzed in my back pocket. I took it out and looked at it.

‘Hey, beautiful. Can you come over sometime? Its Audrey and Jubilee’s birthday today, and we are throwing a surprise party today.’ –Jake

I looked up at Rex, who was reading over my shoulder. He grinned at me.

“I’ll take you. Let’s go, right now. C’mon, get ready!”

I rolled my eyes at him.

‘I’ll be over in ten.’ I texted back to Jake.
