“Rex, they all confuse me.” I had my head in my hands, sitting upright on Rex’s bed while he was lying on his back beside me.

“I know.” He said. “Boys are confusing.”

I giggled. “But you are one.”

He grinned. “Honey, I may be a guy, but that doesn’t mean I understand them all. You are a girl, and do you understand all other girls?”

I faltered. “No,” He smiled. “Not really. Yeah, you have a point.”

He grinned. “Good.”

“But what do I do about Alex? He was so nice on my first day and then the fight happened and now he won’t even talk to me. It’s been like this since last week. What do I do?” I asked, resuming my position with my head in my hands.

Rex sat up and patted my shoulder lovingly.

“There’s only one thing to do.”

I looked up at him. “What’s that?”

He grinned. “Ice Cream, pop tarts and pizza, all on me.”

I grinned. “Let’s do it.”

Rex signed us out of the orphanage and we took his car to the local pizza place.

He ordered a large cheese pizza and three orders of ice cream- five scoops each of every flavor they had, topped with cherries, whip cream, sprinkles, and hot fudge. I dug in immediately, my boy problems forgotten. This was a high end pizza place, with live music. I watched as a guy took the stage, his band setting up behind him.

“Hello, everyone,” He said. He had a deep voice and was tall and lean- he bore a slight resemblance to Andy Biersack.

Everyone looked up at him. There were a lot of scene kids here tonight, as this pizza place was taken over as our hangout every Friday night.

“Well, I’m Andy Black, yeah that’s a coincidence, and we are Broken Religion.”

His drummer started a song with a sick solo, before the guitarists’ added ear melting riffs. 30 seconds in, Andy was screaming.

“Fight with me, through the ignorance

Rise above, the non-believers,

Flying high

We will win this war”

The lead guitarist came forward and the two shared a mike. They switched to singing.

“Scars on her wrists, blood on his lips,

He still fights for her”

Andy was screaming again. I saw Bre’s multicolored hair in the back of the set.

“She said, I just want to give up

Don’t take it personal

I just can’t take it anymore”

He took the mic off of the stand and turned to the now cheering crowd.

“He said, Darling don’t give up

Because you’ll kill me too

I can’t live without you

Your fate is my own”

The guitarist did a crazy ten second solo.

I heard a hauntingly beautiful female voice join Andy’s voice.

“She said, I just want to give up

Don’t take it personal

I just can’t take it anymore.”

Andy continued.

“He said, Darling don’t give up

Because you’ll kill me too

I can’t live without you

Your fate is my own.”

The girl was singing again, her voice a soprano.

“Scars on her wrists,

Filthy thoughts in her mind

Darling save me,”

“Save me,” Andy echoed, his voice breathy and soft

“Save me, because you’re strong enough for two”

Andy sighed and stood on the edge of the stage. Just over a hundred teens reached out to him, screaming and moshing.

“Strong enough for two,” Andy finished.

The drums cut out and the last chord rang through the air.

The fans went wild.

Andy looked up, grinning.

“Okay, well that was Strong Enough For Two, and I have someone I would like you all to meet, since her voice seemed to be such a bit hit. Please welcome, my girlfriend Bre Skye!”

My eyes widened and I spit out my ice cream as Bre proudly strutted on stage. Andy grinned at her and pulled her to his side, sweeping her into a kiss. The teens went crazy- absolutely berserk.

“Isn’t that your best friend?” Rex asked.

Mutely, I nodded.

“Bre is dating Andy Biersack’s freaking look alike.” I spluttered.

“He’s hot,” Rex mused.
