“She is coming soon.” The old seer’s eyes were glazed over. She was in a trance-like state, her prophecy chilling.
“You will know her by the second skin she wears, and her healing sense. She will tame the untamable alpha and be the saving grace of the true blood vampire. Skin pale as ice, hair dark as night, she will be the undoing and savior.”
Anma’s eyes cleared and she stared at me, expectant.
“What were we talking about?”
I blinked. “You just said that prophecy again- the old one, and this time you said she’s coming soon.”
Her eyes widened.
“What?”
“Yeah, I know. I need to go tell the pack.”
I stood to leave. Amna seized my wrist.
“I’ve been thinking, and it’s become painfully obvious that you are the untamable alpha. I mean no disrespect, but it’s true. What with your habits and all-“
I growled, effectively cutting her off. She averted her eyes.
“Don’t bring that up.” I stated before walking out.
It was a crisp autumn day in the very heart of the woods. I looked back at Amna’s hut before I shifted into my auburn wolf and trotted off through the trees.
I stopped in the center of our small village, tilted my head back, and let out a howl to call the others here.
I sat back on my haunches waiting patiently as a small crowd gathered. First out of the trees was a blonde wolf- my Beta, James. He was followed by his mate, a deep russet wolf, Matt. Yeah, James is gay. No, it doesn’t bother me.
James sat on my right, Matt to his side, lying down. I nudged James with my shoulder.
‘What’s up?’ He asked.
‘The prophecy of old- Amna said its coming true.’
He blinked at me. Then looked down.
A group of young wolves emerged from the trees- Kyle, a black wolf, with his mate Emma, a white wolf with sky blue eyes. After them, Jubilee and her twin sister Audrey, both grey wolves with amber eyes.
Four more needed to come before I could start.
Devin slunk out of the woods, his deep amber coat blending in with the fall leaves. He looked up at me with jade eyes before taking a seat next to Jubilee and giving her cheek a lick. She leaned her shoulder against his chest and growled lowly, content. The two were mates, but their bond wasn’t complete- it wouldn’t be until they had mated.
Crow was close behind Devin, her black pelt and ice blue eyes a stark contrast next to Matt, her brother.
A minute later and Chase came, his tawny gold coat fluffed up and slightly damp. Riding on his back was his mate Annabelle, the tiny golden wolf digging her claws into his shoulders as he moved. I grinned at the two. Chase winked at me, and I smirked. He had asked permission to take Annabelle off of the pack land so they could have some privacy.
The two sat down, Annabelle sliding off of Chase. I looked around at the gathered wolves. Every eye was on me, except Matt, who was dozing off.
“As we all know, there is a prophecy of old, cast upon this pack that we would have an Alpha fall in love with a human. Today, Amna said it was coming true.”
The wolves were silent. James gave me a glance.
“We need to be on high alert for intruders and outsiders.” I stated.
