New Blood

BLUE

Alex was leaning against the door of his sleek black sports car, waiting for me. I grinned when I saw him. He wore black skinnies, like mine, except he had on a Black Veil Brides shirt and a leather jacket. His black and red hair was styled in front of his eyes. He looked as handsome as ever.

“Hey” I said. He grinned.

“Hey”

He opened the side door for me. I slid into the low seat. He went around the car and buckled himself in.

“You look really good today.”

I blushed. “Thanks. You do too”

He smiled at me and revved the engine, backing out carefully. I stared out the windshield as he drove.

“Where are we going?” I asked as the town sign passed us.

“To a high end movie theater a town over.”

“Oh.”

Five minutes later, he pulled into a parking space at a massive theater. Alex opened my door for me and helped me out. He didn’t let go of my hand though. I blushed as we walked up to the theater hand in hand, attracting stares from other teenagers. Surprisingly, most of the people we passed were teenagers like us- what others call emo.

We walked into the main area of the theater. I was amazed by how big the whole place was. There was a massive food area, serving whole pizzas as well as a ton of other foods. Beside that was the games area and at least thirty cinemas.

“What movie do you want to watch?” Alex asked me. I shrugged.

“You can decide.”

“Okay.” We went through the line and he bought tickets to a movie that I hadn’t heard of.

He got the two of us a bucket of popcorn and two icees. We walked to the cinema, me holding the popcorn and Alex holding our drinks. We got a seat in the very top row. The movie started within five minutes. It was a horror movie.

Oh joy.

I spent the whole time burying my face in Alex’s side while he laughed. Halfway through, there was a really bloody scene. I squealed and literally jumped over the armrest and onto Alex’s lap. He chuckled but wrapped his arms around me while I buried my head in his chest.

“Are you okay?” He asked. I shook my head and curled into a ball, resting my head against his collarbone. He put his chin on my head and watched the movie over me. He rubbed my arm, relaxing me a little bit. I hid my eyes.

A few minutes later, the movie was over. I uncurled from my ball as the credits came on.
