The next morning, I woke up and checked my phone. I saw a text from Alex.

‘Good morning, beautiful.’

I smiled and jumped out of bed, replying to him.

‘Good morning handsome'

I slid on a My Chemical Romance tee and black skinnies, completing the look with my high converse and styling my hair, putting in my blue contact. I put on some eyeliner and Chap Stick. My phone buzzed.

‘A little birdie told me when your birthday is. Why didn’t you tell me it was so soon?’

‘Never came up, I guess.’

I slipped into a sports hoodie which was tight fitting. Then, I pulled Alex’s jacket over my shoulders, sticking my cast through the sleeve.

‘Alright, well we are going to do something special then.’

I sighed, rolled my eyes and walked out of the house with my backpack on.

“You look good in my jacket.” I jumped as Alex came up beside me.

“Thanks.” I blushed. He pulled me into his side. I noticed that he wasn’t wearing a jacket, just a tee shirt, and his typical sunglasses.

“Why do you always wear sunglasses outside?”

He sighed. “I don’t like the sun.”

“Oh.” It had rained the night before, and several puddles dotted our path. The air was foggy and dense with water. I sighed as I saw a massive puddle blocking our way. Alex smirked and pulled my backpack off of my shoulders, putting it beside his own on his back before he lifted me up and ran through the water. I shrieked and held on tightly to his neck, making sure he wouldn’t drop me.

He didn’t. He continued to carry me until we got to the base of the hill the school rested on, when he let me down, his hands still on my waist and my arms still around his neck. He bent down to my level, and our lips touched for the barest of seconds. A deep growl and a shout broke us apart. I turned, still in Alex’s grip to see Jake and Crow standing behind him. Jake looked furious. Emotions flowed through me at the thought of what Jake and I had come so close to having. I turned away, slid my backpack off of Alex’s shoulder, and walked away with a huff. Alex glared at Jake before he followed me.

I felt Jake grip my arm. “Blue, can we please talk?”

I shook him off and kept walking.

“Blue,”

I stopped, sighed, and turned around. Alex stood behind me, concerned.

I took a deep breath and looked up at Jake. His hair was unkempt, he had dark circles under his eyes, and he looked like he had lost weight.

“Jake, What did you do?”

He looked down. Crow pulled up his left sleeve. I gasped.

He had multiple healing cuts, running deep along his forearm, horizontally thank god.

“Can I please talk to you,” He glanced at Alex. “Alone?”

I looked back at Alex. He motioned me over to him.

“Blue, I don’t know that I trust him alone with you.” Alex murmured, glancing at Jake.

“He won’t hurt me.”

“He already did.” Alex said.

I looked down. “Alex, he’s hurt. I need to know what I can do to help him.”
