I woke up and 8am, even after being up and down all night just to text Sarah I felt refreshed.
Not even bothering with a shower since I had one last night and my hotel room was air condition there was really no need. I grabbed my suitcases stuffing them into the boot and back seat of my car.
I went back upstairs to double check I had left nothing behind before going to check out and pay my bill.
I left the hotel for the last time and got in my car, turned my music up loud and began my journey home.
After about three hours of driving my stomach began to rumble so I pulled into a McDonalds, got out and ordered my food.
After I finished eating I realised I forgot to stop in at a shop, so I drove around whatever town I was in and found a Coles.
I went inside grabbed heaps of vitamin waters, already made up fruit salads and plenty of juice, before heading to the check out to pay for my stuff.
I stepped out of the air conditioned building into the hot summer sun. Sighing loudly at the unbearably hot day I made a mad dash for my car. I put my groceries into the battery powered esky fridge so they would be cold. Before setting back out on my journey.
About an hour later my Bluetooth started ringing, quickly answering it.
"Hello?" I said unsure if who was calling.
"Hey" I heard Sarah's angelic voice.
We continued talking for the next half hour.
I smiled to myself when I realised that although it had only been about give hours since I left I had already nearly reached Sydney.
I hated long car trips, especially when I was alone with no one to talk to.
Another few hours had passed and I noticed my car was nearly empty so I stopped into the nearest servo, filling my car completely up.
I set back out on my journey. The sun was beginning to set, and I couldn't help but feel slightly saddened. For the past three weeks watching the sun set had become mine and Sarah's special thing and now I was experiencing it alone.
I continued long into the night before stopping at the nearest hotel. I climbed up the stairs with one if my bags and what food and drinks I had left which surprisingly was a lot.
Entering the room I put my food into the fridge and went into the bathroom running the cold water, taking off my clothes I slipped into the cold water, at first it startled me but then the water became refreshing reminding me of a rainy winter day. Smiling at the thought, I wish winter would hurry up, this heat was annoying, as much as I liked summer I just wanted it to be winter, so I could have that feeling if the cold, crisp air entering my lungs as I took a deep breath of fresh air.
I snapped out of my thoughts hearing my phone buzz. I jump out of the shower, turning it off before wrapping the towel around my body.
I felt I grin appear on my face as I read Sarah's name on my screen. I wasted no time in replying to her.
I quickly slipped on a black sports bra and a pair of black boy shorts. I fell onto the soft bed, phone in hand and texted Sarah for the next hour. She was already home and I couldn't wait until I got home tomorrow. At the rate I'm going I should be home by mid afternoon if I leave at 8am.
I said goodnight to Sarah, placing my phone on charge before falling back into the bed and drifting off to sleep.
