Chapter Twenty-Four

Nine weeks later.

I woke up next to Sarah, I quietly got out of bed and put some clothes on and went to the kitchen where Stacey was cooking. The smell of bacon and eggs filled the air. I smiled as I let her know I was there.

"Morning, is Sarah awake?" She asked.

"Not yet" I replied smiling.

"Can you wake her up for me?" She smiled.

I walked back to her room and gently shook her awake. She rolled out of bed and sleepily made her way to the kitchen. As soon as she saw the food and coffee on the table her eyes lit up and she sat down to eat.

Once we finished eating we got changed into warm clothes and we headed to the mountains.

"It sucks that Stacey has to work" I said.

"I know, we could have had so much fun" she smiled.

We drove up until we saw snow and pulled the car into the car park of the local diner. We got out and walked up a little further. While Sarah wasn't looking I picked up a handful of snow and threw it at her. She turned around and tackled me to the ground.

I pressed my lips against hers. After breaking the kiss I pulled myself off the ground and we made our way to the cafe about a hundred meters away.

As soon as we arrived inside warm air wrapped around us. We sat at the table and ordered coffees and scones.

After an hour or so we headed back to the car.

"I have a surprise for you" Sarah smiled as we pulled into her driveway.

"What is it?" I asked excitedly.

She smiled brightly and took my hand as she led me into her room.

There were two plane tickets and two fully packed suitcases on the bed.

I looked at her confused.

"We are going on a trip" she smiled.

"I see that" I whispered.

"We are going to Hawaii for a week" she replied kissing my cheek.

Nothing in that moment could wipe the smile off my face. I pulled her close to me and held her tight.

"I love you" I shouted.

"I love you too" she replied.

"We leave tomorrow morning" she told me.

I smiled at her before changing out of my wet clothes into some nice warm dry clothes.

"There is one thing about the trip, I need to go to my cousins wedding and I want you to be my date" she smiled shyly.

"Of course I will be your date" I said throwing my arms around her neck.

She kissed my neck.

"Let's take a nap before we go out to dinner" she said falling onto the bed.

I placed my arm around her waist and snuggled up close to her. Within minutes I had fallen asleep.

After a few hours I woke up. I stretched my stiff body and climbed out of bed. I looked around and noticed Sarah wasn't in bed. I walked down the hall towards the kitchen but there was no sign of her.

"Sarah" I called out.

There was no reply. I took out my phone to call her when I noticed a piece of paper folded neatly sitting on the table. I picked it up and read it.
