Chapter Twenty-One

A week later.

We finally arrived in Melton and she dropped me off at my house. I grabbed my stuff out of the car and went inside.

My mum wouldn't be home for another week and Lacey wouldn't be home for another hour or so.

I quickly unpacked my suitcases and bags and put everything away I put the giant teddy on my bed and put both of the suitcases in the garage. I messed up my bed a little and loaded dishes into the dishwasher to make it look like I had been home.

I then sat on the couch and put the tv on. I was suddenly feeling hungry so I put a two pieces of chicken in the oven an put some veggies on the stove.

"Taylor" I heard Lacey's voice.

"In the kitchen" I called out.

She came into the kitchen and wrapped her arms around me.

"Are you hungry?" I asked.

"Yes" she replied.

"Dinner will be about twenty minutes" I told her.

"I'm going to go unpack" she said.

I went and plonked back down on the couch. I watched tv until I heard the ding from the timer on the oven.

I took the chicken out and put a piece on each plate, I strained the veggies and put some on each plate and called Lacey down for dinner.

I handed her a plate and we went and sat down on the couch.

I asked her about her trip and she told me all about it. She asked about my holiday and of course I couldn't tell her how amazing it was so I lied and told her it was boring.

Once we finished dinner we put the dirty dishes into the dishwasher and I went upstairs for a shower. I got out and changed into a black sports bra and a pair of grey cotton track suit pants.

I went back down to the lounge room and laid on the couch.

"What do you want to do tomorrow?" Lacey asked.

"Maybe we could go to the beach" I smiled.

"It looks like you spent the whole holidays at the beach your so tan" she laughed.

"Well what bout we bake all day?" I asked.

"I like that idea" she smiled.

Lacey and I put on aprons and got a whole heap of ingredients out. We decided to cook school lunches for the next two days. First we made a delicious beef stir fry we had a taste and when we were happy with it we put it into containers and got started on chicken and veggies. Once it was down we started on making banana bread we added walnuts to it for a bit of crunch.

After several hours of cooking food we decided to order some Chinese food for lunch.

"What should we do for the rest of the day?" I asked Lacey.

"Well I need some new school clothes" she smiled.

I rolled my eyes and agreed. I already got new clothes but I could always use some more.

I went for a quick shower and got changed into a pair of black leggings and a powder blue baby doll top, I did my hair and makeup and slipped on a pair of blue flats.

I grabbed my bag and phone and Lacey and I headed to the shops.

We arrived at the mall and went in. Firstly needed new pens and that for school so we went into office works. I paid for my stuff and we headed to the clothing stores.

After several hours of trying on and buying clothes I was tired and hungry so we went to sizzler for dinner.

We ate a lot of food to the point of bursting and then we finally went home. I took my bags up to my room and took a shower.

When I finished in the shower I got out, dried off and slipped in a pair of grey sweatpants and a black sports bra.

I put my new clothes away and pulled out a pair of black high waisted shorts, a plain white camisole and black fashion cardigan. I put the outfit on the back of my door.

I said goodnight to Lacey who was already curled up in bed. I climbed into my own bed and went to sleep.
