Last night was super eventful I mean what are the chances your school principle chooses to take his vacation in the same foreign country as you, let alone the same area?
"Good morning sleepyhead" Sarah giggled.
I love the sound of her laugh.
"I got you a coffee, we have to leave soon" she continued.
"For what?" I ask, taking the coffee from her hand.
"My cousins pre-wedding barbecue thing" she informed.
I nodded in acknowledgment as I gulped down my coffee.
The worst thing about someone else packing your suitcase is they choose all of your outfits for you. Luckily for me Sarah and I are the same size so I have double the wardrobe choices.
I dug through both suitcases and pulled out some black leggings and a pale yellow tunic top.
"How's this" I motioned head to toe.
"Perfect" she replied.
It didn't take very long for us to get ready and soon enough we were on our way to the barbecue. The closer we got the more nervous I got.
"What's wrong?" She asked grabbing my hand.
"I'm just a bit nervous about meeting your family" I told her.
"You're the most amazing person I know, they are going to love you" she said giving my hand a little squeeze.
As soothing as her words were they didn't help my nerves.
The car came to a stop out front of a beautiful house, with flowers and vines climbing the wall, it looked like it was straight out of a magazine.
We walked up to the front door and we were greeted by a beautiful woman with dark curls and tanned skin, who introduced herself as Kayla.
We were led out back where Sarah proudly introduced me to her family, which made me smile like a fool.
After a drink and a few chats it was fully time to eat, we all made our way to the large gazebo area. My heart sank when I saw a whole pig on the table. I pulled Sarah along to the end of the table where the salads were.
We ate and talked and drank for hours, well into the night. Before long it was coming towards midnight and we decided it was time to head back to the hotel.
We were both quite drunk as we stumbled into the room and threw ourselves onto the bed, not even bothering to change our clothes.
The second my head hit the pillow I was fast asleep.
