Kim Seokjin never loved you.

Kim Seokjin threw away precious items you had given him.

The letters, so full of love and hopes, were not from Kim Seokjin.

Someone else does love you. Someone who calls your name more gently, with more carefulness and affection. "I love you." Namjoon said loud and clearly. Someone who had been there all along, but you were so blinded by the star to see the moon. And right now, you were still blind.

"I need to go see him." you said in a trance.

"You can't." he stated as a matter of fact.

You bit your lip, "Why not?"

Namjoon sighed, "Because he ran away."

"Excused me?"

"Last night, an argument broke out. The young Master wanted to continue his studies in the city but the Lord and Lady were wanting him to settle down and married you. He didn't want to do that. He said he only wanted to marry the person he truly loves." Namjoon debated if he should go on or not. He sensed that you were slowly breaking. "He never wanted to marry you, Lady Song. He only proposed because his parents were pressuring him. He never once loved you." You gripped the objects, so tightly that your hands might bleed.

His hand went up in an attempt to touch you, but you back away quickly. "Don't touch me." you yelled. "Don't you dare come any closer."

"My Lady, I understand that you are mad. Please allow me to explain-"

"There's absolutely nothing to explain. You deceived me. Both of you!" In the back of your mind, you knew it had been too good to be real. The prince and the princess, that life wasn't meant for you. You also knew of the red flags, his rare appearance, the tone shifted in his letters, but you had all dismissed it as something else, never that he was falling out of love. Now it was a fact that he was never in love in the first love. "And you!" you pointed straight at him. "How dare you say these things to me. That you love me. How could you make such a proposition to me at this time?" you shouted.

"My Lady, I only wanted to tell you the truth. I have loved you for half my life. Seokjin could never see your worth, but I see you and I see that you deserve to be loved honestly and completely."

"I do not care about the reason. You have made a fool of me. I don't ever want to see you again." you said through tears. Namjoon was nervous, he only wanted to comfort you, but you were like dynamite and he was fearful of the explosion. There were spots in your vision, and a loud ringing in your ear. Your world was falling apart.

"Please listen to me..."

You've never heard Namjoon talk so much before. There was a time when he didn't talk at all and let Seokjin do all the talking. Seokjin, that was who you were most furious with. But since he wasn't here, the only option was to let your anger out on the innocent boy in front of you. "Do you think you are worthy to say those words to me? You are an orphan, a peasant, and I am a lady of the royal physician. You can never be on my level!" That was the explosion.

Namjoon's body froze, he couldn't believe the words had just escaped your mouth. "But...I didn't think those things matter to you." he said quietly and in utter shock still. "You had always been so kind."

"I am like that to everyone because my mother taught me. It doesn't make you special. You never were, Namjoon." you choked on the rest of the sentence. It was probably a good thing or else you would have said countless more vile things. But the look on Namjoon's face said you've done enough. He no longer had a smile on, or any emotion. You could almost make out the tears holding onto his eyes. His hands were trembling as his breath stopped.

Just then your mother's figure appeared in front of you and caught your body. You hadn't realized that you were falling in the first place. "Mother, help me. I'm in so much pain." you whispered. She first turned to Namjoon, piercing at him.

"I heard everything. How dare you say such things to my daughter at a time like this?" Namjoon, still unable to speak, could only muster up choking sounds like a toddler. But his eyes were still on you, your fragile body cradling against your mother for comfort. Before, he hated to see you cry, but right now, he thought it was fitting. You were just everyone else. Everyone else in the world that hated his existence and will never think of him as anything greater than an orphan.

Madam Kim finally emerged from her shadow and slapped Namjoon, something she had been waiting to do all her life. "You think because my husband took you under his wings that you are his son? You will never achieve greatness, nor will you ever have a chance with Seokjin's betrothed."

You heard her well, and the fire in you raged again. Kim Seokjin is not my betrothed and I will no longer allow your family to string me along anymore." you yelled. "Now leave!" Your mother didn't scold you for being so rude. Instead, she sent the maid to escort Madam Kim, who was in disbelief and a little frightful, out.

"Young man, I think you should leave as well." your mother said. Namjoon had no more reason to stay. He was hoping you would say you're joking and everything will go away. The scene remained the same. His feet took him running to no destination in particular, he could no longer find haven in your gaze. You looked at him like he was nothing, worst, an orphan. And then darkness completely consumed you. Your mind was still very much alive and vivid.

Kim Seokjin had ran away.

Kim Seokjin never wanted to marry you.

And you had just killed a person.
