Even Commander Jeon agreed that you should stay in the palanquin with Lady Park. He still shook over the fact that Namjoon's body and yours were disappearing. At first, he didn't want to believe in any magic or witchcraft, but he was starting to doubt reality. The reality he believed that wouldn't spare him any luck of happiness, but with things like magic, maybe he should have some hope. His horse slowed down without his order, he snapped his head around to see signs of an attack. The sun had already crawled back to its bed behind the mountains, and the light was limited. Sensing that there was nothing dangerous, he ventured on as the party followed behind.

After a few more miles, he understood why his horse along with the other horses were acting strange. The presence of black sand was near, and it was in the small town straight ahead. Commander Jeon knew it would be dangerous to set up camp there, but considering that his soldiers were exhausted along with two young ladies, there was no other choice. So the party marched into town, where it was desolate except for some elders, few children and their parents. When the palanquin stopped, you gingerly opened the window to see the desperation in the air, along with the smell of death.

Namjoon surveyed the perimeter, along with some guards while Commander Jeon explained the situation to the townspeople. For the most part, they were afraid, but felt at ease when Commander Jeon offered to give them some food and supplies as payment. Out of the shadows of a rundown house, a boy, perhaps a bit younger than Namjoon, appeared. He stumbled and knelt in front of Commander Jeon's feet. Everyone gasped a bit. The soldiers knew Commander Jeon never really liked formality. He bent down to help the boy up.

"Please, help my brother." the boy whispered. His lips were purple and his skin was cold. He looked as if he needed help himself.

"What happened to your brother?" Commander Jeon asked.

"H-he's been infected by the drugs," the boy answer. Tears were burning through his eyes, it broke your heart to watch. "He's been unconscious for 3 days and I hate seeing him hurt."

"What is your name?"

"Taehyung."

Commander Jeon sighed and placed a hand on Taehyung's shoulder. "Listen, I'm sorry for your brother, but there's not a lot that anyone can do for him. It's best that you prepare yourself."

The boy shook his head as the tears continued to stream down his cheeks. "No, no, please, you have to do something for him..." His voice broke and his knees fell to the ground once more. People around began to speak in low voices, you heard fragments of their sentences, how Taehyung only has his brother left after their parents were killed by Silver Stone guards a few years ago. It made your blood boil and your hands turned to fists. Slowly, you walked over to Taehyung and crouched down. His gaze remained to the ground and you placed your hand on his.

"I will help your brother." you told him.

"What?" the boy asked in disbelief.

"Lady Song," Commander Jeon began, "It's too dangerous for you to get close to him, you can get infected yourself."

You shook your head, "My father is a doctor, he swore on his life to save people. I need to do the same."

"Do you have any herbs?"

"I brought what I could before I left." you answered. When Taehyung lifted his head, and you saw the glimmers of hope in his eyes.

"Thank you, thank you so much!" he exclaimed. He began leading you to the house, bt then your feet stopped. Namjoon was already looking at you when you turned around. He observed the whole thing.

It was selfish for you to make that declaration, you wouldn't be the only one affected if anything happens. "Namjoon..." He stepped closer until there was only a breath of air between you two.

"Are you sure you can do it?" he asked gently.

"Yes, I've been studying in secret. And although my skills aren't as great as father's, I have to try."

He smiled, it was what he wanted to hear. "Good, then you need to save him. And I'll be beside you." Before you two went to the house, Commander Jeon instructed you both to wear clothes over your nose and mouth just as precautions. The house was cramped, with only a table and bed in the corner. Fruits were rotten, and it dawned on you that there were so many inequalities in the world. All this time, you never thought much besides yourself.

"Yoongi hyung," Taehyung said, sweeping the hair out of the sleeping man's face. "I brought someone to make you feel better." Yoongi's face was awfully green and you could see his cheekbones protruding out. Namjoon handed you your pouch and you began combining the herbs.

"Daisies?" Namjoon asked from behind.

"Don't you know how much healing properties they have?" you retorted. "I read about them once when I was little. Father doesn't believe in that magic, but we need all the magic we can right now." Namjoon watched as you gracefully combined the ingredients, going over the notes you've taken, and focused on the boiling antidote. He hadn't seen you so focused on anything besides your sewing. He was seeing you in all sorts of lights and it'll be hard to part from you once this is all over. Your hair falling out of place and sweats building from your forehead. He took it upon himself to wipe it with his sleeve. You froze a bit, feeling strangely too comfortable.

Namjoon cleared his throat. "Sorry, I didn't mean to do that Lady Song."

"Please, don't call me that anymore. It makes me sad. And if you're going to leave me after this, I at least want you to say my name."

Namjoon bit back the burning in his eyes. "Alright... Y/N." It made your stomach flutter. But you told yourself it's not something you should get used to. When the medicine was finished, Taehyung quickly fed it to Yoongi, who seemed to be responding well. Some colors come back to his cheeks and Taehyung cried once again, this time, out of happiness.

"Thank you so much, lady Song." he cheered. He opened his arms up out of habits from hugging his brother all the time, but stopped when he remembered who you were. You stepped forward and wrapped your arms around him.

"That goes for you too, call me by my name." you told him. "I'll come back tomorrow to check up on him, alright?"

"Yes, thank you Y/N."

Then he watched as you and Namjoon walked back to the rest of the group, invisible strings tying you together, and it wasn't the curse at all.
