Your mother embraced you for half an hour. It was starting to get harder to breathe, but you had missed her too much to let go. Namjoon's aunt had made a portal for her to come to see you after you had woken up. A headache came over her as she stepped through, never in her life would she thought she would go through a portal to SilverStone. Apparently, your father hadn't let her go to see you in fear that it would cause too much stress for her to handle. She was quite upset with her husband, but decided that she would save her anger for when they get home. Something told her her daughter would not be joining them on the trip back home.
After the tearful reunion, you invited her and your father to tea in under the gazebo in the middle of the pond. Lotus flowers sprung from all around, pink hues decorated the ocean of green. Namjoon was right, you had loved the sight of this. The first order of business was, of course, getting scolded for risking your life to leave home to go break Namjoon's curse.
"When Hana ran to me, face riddled with regret, I knew something was wrong." your mother explained bitterly as she drank the calming chamomile tea. "I knew that everything with Seokjin had caused you to be upset and overwhelmed. When I saw Hana crying, I thought of the worst-case scenario. I thought I had lost you. In a way, I kind of did. She showed me the note you left. You should have explained better, then maybe I wouldn't have worried so much."
"Honey, you would have worried either way." your father added. She gave him a look.
"Anything would have been better than that ominous note. What did it say? That you left to do something you were destined to do?" she recited.
"I was cursed," you pointed out. "And to be honest, I didn't really know what to say. I don't think it would have been any good if I told you I left with Namjoon. That might have made you more upset. But please don't be angry with me anymore," you continued. "I am alive, and so happy right now."
Your mother smiled gently and grabbed a hold of your hand. "I am very glad that you are happy, that is all I ever want from you. I'm sorry that I was not able to protect you when your heart broke."
"You did everything that you could for me." you assured her. "I think it's better this way." A maid approached, and did a formal curtsy at you.
"Your Highness, Lady Park wanted me to tell you that lunch has been prepared and she wanted to invite you and your parents to join her."
"Tell her we will be there soon." you answered, the maid bowed again, then stepped away.
"Your Highness, I see," your mother commented, chuckling to herself.
"They started calling me that, I don't know when it happened," you explained. Everywhere you went, people treated you as if you were part of the royal family. They even dressed you in what a princess would wear, but Namjoon specifically suggested the color red on you, along with a red bow at the end of your braids.
"Well, you've always wanted to be a princess," she teased. Then her smile faded, and she looked at you with a serious expression. It made you concern. "What will happen now with you and Na-, I mean, the Prince?"
Your shoulders slumped, "I don't really know. We haven't talked about that. He's been busy rebuilding everything and I've been resting. We haven't really had time to meet."
"What do you want to happen?" she asked. "You have to also remember that he's not just a prince. He's the grand prince, destined to be a king.
That was something you have thought about in depth, even before reaching SilverStone. After realizing your feelings for him, you had thought about the future. Of course, in that scenario, you never imagined his mother would turn out to be a heartless snake and wanted to harm him. Before that, you had hopes of staying with him, and settling down somewhere small and quiet. Having grown up in a privileged household, it would surely be hard to be independent, but you wouldn't mind working hard to build a happy home with him by your side. "I just want to be with him," you confessed. "I know it might be a rash decision, and you could say that it's only my heart looking to heal itself, but I truly feel that he's my answer."
Before your mother could say anything, your felt an intense aura approaching. The servant surrounding all bowed to him as he walked closer in royal blue and gold robe. It would be red soon, whenever he decides he would become the king. Your parents stood up to give him a formal bow, but he stopped them before going to give you a hug.
"What are you doing?" you asked.
"I got done early with the meeting and thought I'd pay your parents a proper visit." Namjoon answered cheerfully. To be honest, he was nervous to the core.
"Your Highness, you do not need to do that," you father chimed in. "You have many urgent matters to worry about."
"Yes, that is true. And I am here because of one of them." Namjoon said sheepishly.
"What is it?" you asked. Namjoon took a step back, and gulped. Then he proceeded to kneel down in front of your parents. Everyone gasped.
"Your Highness, please stand up," your father urged. It would cause unnecessary rumors if outsiders see this.
"I am not here to apologize to you, while I should for causing such trouble, I will not." Namjoon began, "As you both know, I love your daughter dearly, even when I had no right to. I am not sure that I have gained your trust to love her now, but I want you to know I have every intention of staying by her side if she allows me that honor."
"What are you saying, Your Majesty?" your mother questioned, though she knew where it was going.
Namjoon cleared his throat, "I am asking for your blessing to marry Y/N." Although you had been expecting this, it was still a shock to hear him say it out loud. He didn't need to ask for your answer because he already knew, your souls had been connected even without the curse. Your heart was pounding as you waited for your parents' response. Your father turned to your mother, it was up to her. "Madam Song, I will take care of her." Namjoon promised.
Your mother's mouth twisted, "I know you will. I'm still hesitant, you're still a prince who will one day be a king and I never planned for my daughter to be involved in this political life. I'm worried that she'll be left behind while you go and do magnificent things." She bit her lip and avoided your eyes. "I'm sorry, but I cannot give you my blessings right now."
