Despite getting your mother's approval and Namjoon's eagerness to get married right away, in fact, he couldn't sleep that night because he was overwhelmed with joy, the two of you decided to postpone making any plans. There were a few reasons for this. First, there was still the matter of producing the anecdote for Black Sand to be distributed over the city and to other cities nearby. Now that you were awake, Namjoon could finally schedule that meeting with Empress Wei and talk about future relations between SilverStone and Sacred Skies. The other reason for the delay was the most important one.

You and Namjoon nodded at each other, the two of you had already gone over the plan many times before both departings to the destination. Namjoon found Commander Jeon with SilverStone guards. He took the liberty to start training them himself because he claimed that they had been too weak when they fought. Namjoon didn't mind, he appreciated the help. The guards all stopped and bowed when they saw the Prince. The commander nodded his head, still unable to get used to the new ranking which Namjoon was glad of. It would be weird if he had started treating Namjoon like a real prince.

"Your Highness, what are you doing here?" he asked.

"I need to talk to you about something," Namjoon answered, "In private." The commander gestured for the soldiers to get back to training while he walked to a safer place with the prince.

"What's going on?"

"I think I should be asking you that."

"What do you mean?"

"I know you said you would stay to train my soldiers, but I am smart enough to know that is not the only reason. I don't mind of course, in fact, I am happy. However, I wouldn't take the great commander of Sacred Skies to be beating around the bush."

"My apologies Your Highness," the commander cleared his throat. "I do not know what you are talking about."

"She's waiting for you," Namjoon stated plainly. It struck a chord in Commander Jeon's heart, Namjoon could see it in his eyes. "She's waiting for you to make a move. And I know you want to. You deserve to be together."

"But she is betrothed to someone else."

"So you are just going to let her go? Even if she's not happy?"

The other boy bit his lip, he only ever wanted his lover to be happy, and he thought that happiness could never lie with him. "I just can't."

"Yes you can." The commander looked up, it was not the Prince's voice. It came from a man behind him, and the commander recognized the dazzling smile.

"Lord Jung."

"Don't worry, I am not upset with you in any way," Lord Jung said right away. "In fact, love should be celebrated. When her Majesty came to me with the proposal, I only accepted it because I heard the Lady Park was the only one unmarried in her household and her reputation was decreasing. I would have treated her well, but I don't think I could ever love her the way you do. She deserves to be loved, and so do you."

The commander began thinking. He was at a position right now where he could provide for Lady Park. It would be a hard life, nothing like she was used to,"But-"

"There's nothing left stopping you," Namjoon interjected, "Except for you doubts. But are you going to let your doubts halt your life forever?"

You found her by the garden, it had been her favorite spot in the palace. Desolate and yet she never felt lonely with the abundance of flowers. When she saw you, she was delighted. "Your Highness," she bowed.

"Lady Park, please do not call me that."

"You will be the princess soon, I heard from your parents." she giggled. "But why have you not started with the wedding plan?"

"That's what I wanted to talk with you about." you answered.

"Oh, do you need my help with the planning? I would love to."

"Not exactly," you hummed. "Let's take a walk." She obeyed and walked side to side alongside you.

"What did you want to talk about?" she asked.

"I was able to get my happy ending, and in part it was thanks to you," you began. "I was able to realize my feelings and chased after my happiness like you wanted me to. I can never thank you enough. But now, I think you need to chase and hold on to the person you love."

"Lady Song,"

"You have done all you can as a daughter. You cannot let duties dictate your life forever. We are humans after all, and we desire true love and happiness. Don't let him go."

She sighed, "I don't even know if he wants me anymore. He had his own sets of duties and I feel that I have disappointed him far too much already."

"I know that feeling, of hurting the person you care about. But the truth is, men are persistent and when they love, they fall head first without thinking. Something tells me he's still crazy about you."

She tilted her head, "How do you know?"

"Well, he is marching right this way, isn't he?" Her head snapped up to see the commander's figure dashing towards you two, the Prince following close behind.

"Jungkook," she gasped.

"No, Jimin, listen to me." the commander objected, "I'm sorry that I kept pushing you away and pretended that I didn't care. I care so much, and I just wanted you to be happy. I thought that if you married a rich lord that it would be the happy ending you deserve. But now I realized that there's no one who can give you happiness except me, and I will stop running from that fact. Please, take me back."

Lady Park blinked, gathering her thoughts."Now you listen to me. I don't care if we're poor, I don't care that you'll go out to war. I don't care that we might not have a luxurious life. It's enough knowing that I get to be with you. So, will you marry me, Jungkook?"

The boy broke into a giant grin. "It would be my honor."

The two of them did what they had been waiting for ever since they fell in love. Both you and Namjoon melted at the sight but then looked away to give the couple some privacy. A wedding did happen at the palace a few days later.
