I opened my eyes and looked at the time. Nine-forty-five am. I sighed as I turned over and looked at Luke.

"Morning." I smiled as I saw that he was already awake.

"Morning." He replied. I looked at him.

"What's up?" I asked.

"She goes to university today." He sighed. I nodded.

"Yeah, she does." I spoke. He looked at me.

"We're losing our baby." He choked.

"She'll always be your little girl, she's just going to be your little girl at university." I reassured. He chuckled as he sat and rubbed his eyes.

"Yeah." He nodded before standing up.

"I'm going to make her favourite breakfast, one last time." He sighed as he headed towards the bedroom door.

"She's going to hate how sentimental you're being about this." I chuckled.

"Tough, she's our only child and she's moving out today, she's going to have to deal." He smiled, making me return it as he headed out of the bedroom.

Luke opened the door as Liz brought the last of her bags into the living room. She put them down and looked at me.

"I'm going to miss you." She smiled as she hugged me.

"I'm going to miss you too. You call me no matter what, you call me however many times you want, call me if you need anything, call me if you meet a new boy-."

"Okay!" She laughed. I returned it before kissing her head and letting her go. She turned to Luke and hugged him.

"I love you, dad. Tell me if you're in the city, I'll come and see your show." She smiled.

"Of course. I love you, princess." He returned. She nodded before grabbing a bag and heading out of the door.

"I'll help you to pack your car." Luke spoke before grabbing a bag and following her out. Luke put her bag in the boot of her car as she climbed in the driver's seat. I sighed as Luke stood next to me. I curled my arms around his waist, causing him to wrap his arm around my middle.

"Bye! I love you!" Liz yelled as she started to drive away.

"We love you too!" Luke shouted back. I sighed as her car turned around the corner and out of sight.

"She's gone." Luke choked. I looked up at him to see a tear rolling down his cheek.

"She'll be back soon enough. You'll see." I reassured.

"That's what I used to tell her." He sighed.

"So you know that it's true." I spoke. He looked down at me.

"What would I do without you?" he smiled gently. I chuckled before leaning up and pressing our lips together.
