I walked into the church where Liz was getting married, my hand in Luke's as we looked around.
"Wow, they picked a lovely venue." I nodded in approval.
"Yeah they did-where is she?" Luke asked, looking around for Liz.
"She said that she would be in the backroom, come on." I spoke as I led him into the back room. I opened the door and saw her.
"Hey, Liz, honey." I smiled as I hugged her.
"Hey." She returned it. I pulled away to see Luke just staring at Liz.
"Do I look alright?" Liz asked. He opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out.
"You look stunning, honey." He spoke eventually. She smiled at him as he hugged her.
"Thanks, dad. Come on, the wedding is about to start." She squealed.
Luke and I stood at the entrance to the church. I looked at him.
"Luke, what the fuck has happened to your tie?" I chuckled as I started to tie it properly. He looked down.
"What's wrong?" I asked gently. He looked up and I saw tears pricking his eyes.
"I'm about to give away our only child. I'm about to say goodbye to my baby girl and I'm about to give her away to a guy who I just have to trust won't hurt her." He choked. I sighed as a tear left my eye and I gently placed my hand on his cheek. He leant into my touch as he put his hand over mine. I leant in and pressed our lips together, Luke returning it before I broke the kiss.
"She'll always be your baby girl, she'll just be your baby girl who loves another man as well as her dad." I reassured. He sighed and nodded as Liz appeared.
"You ready, daddy?" she smiled.
"I'll see you in there. Good luck, sweetheart." I smiled before hugging her and going inside. The music started to play and the doors opened. I smiled as I saw Luke and Liz walking down the aisle with their arms linked. My smile widened as I saw Luke wipe his eyes. They got to the altar and Luke kissed her cheek before coming next to me and gripping my hand.
"It's okay, babe." I smiled. He looked down at me and nodded.
"Yeah. It's okay." He smiled gently before kissing me and turning back to the altar.
