'"nnie.. are we lost?"
"as long as we stick together, we'll be fine."they were lost. yuna should've not follow that cute little dog. yet alone bring jina along. mom, dad or bona are nowhere to be seen, and even if they did try to look for them, there were too many adults crowding the area. the two girls were bumping shoulders with everyone, stepping on shoes and pleading "excuse me!".
their father didn't lie when they said the city was crowded. it was packed! how could people even walk? maybe yuna was still a little too short, but she couldn't get used to making contact with every single person that passes by.
it was getting dark soon. yuna knew she had to find them before nightime. not long after the sun set, yuna and jina's stomach grumbled, begging for food.
"yuna~ i'm hungry!" jina tugs at my sleeve.
"hold it in. let's find mom and dad first."somehow, they ended up in the darkest possible street here. fewer people were passing by, and even less were there. shops were closing, lights were flickering. it felt like something out of a horror movie.
"little girl, you seem very hungry." a masculine voice says, alarming the girls. jina was circling her belly with her hands.
a man emerged out of nowhere. he seemed and acted like an elder, with a bearded face and big coat. their mothers told them way too many times to not talk to strangers. yuna kept silent as she could and held back jina, but she let go of her hand.
"yes sir. can you please give us food?"
"of course sweetie. just come over here"
before she could hold back, jina was out of her reach, hand in hand with the man. they walked away, and yuna was.. freezing? she attempted move out of place, shifting her legs as much as she could, but it felt like something was holding her back. jina and the man were walking further and way faster than she could. yuna needed to chase them.
sooner later, they were out of sight, and yuna fell onto the concrete floor, in panic.
"JINA! SHIN JINA!"
yuna jumped out of bed. it was another nightmare , only that it really did happen. she did ran after jina and the man, but he carried her and he got in a van and- yeah, she didn't want to think about it ever again.
she glanced over at my clock. it was still 2 am. she needed to get more rest. she tousled over her blankets, flipping her body over, trying to find another comfortable position. she buried her face into her cold pillow, shivering in fear.
"are you sure about this?" ryujin asks her, as yuna was spraying perfume to the love letter.
"definitely. i've been wanting to do this for so long! i can't screw up." yuna assures an unsure ryujin. ryujin looked down at her letter, and eventhough her expression showed everything, she nodded blatantly.
"okay.'"she fakely smiles. yuna could clearly see the concern written all over her face. but it was fine. as long as she doesn't screw up, it would be fine. she was confident she would get an answer, and she guessed that she was ready.
after the bell rang, she was one of the first to run out, which suprised some people, since i'm never in a rush. she followed hueningkai, who walked over to taehyun with beomgyu. one of the seniors, choi soobin also entered the small circle, and they were chatting happily.
her shaky fingers tapped his shoulder. she was smiling, but she stopped, deciding it might be too awkward.
"can i talk to you?"
"uh yeah."
"in private?" she added, smiling to herself.
"okay.." he says doubtfully, but he followed her out of the school and to the empty soccer field. yuna has been planning this scenario for years and years, and here she was, finally about to tell him.
"what do you want to tell me?"
"hueningkai.. god how am i supposed to say this?"
there was silence as he eyed at me from top to bottom.
"i.. really like you. you're handsome, sweet and the first time i saw you i think my jaw dropped.. haha." yuna tried to sounded more calm, but internally, butterflies were swarming her insides.
he stayed silent, looking at her. she started stammering over her words, and handed him the letter with a cute sticker. "there's more to say, so i wrote them in this letter.'
she waited for him to take it, or even say that he liked her back, but instead he furrowed his eyebrows and he could see his clencing fists. "do you know how much i hate you?"
"..what do you mean-"
"you busted it in my life, literally, made myself an embarrassment in elementary. you always try to talk to me, you try to make me jealous, you ruin everything! and yet you even have the guts to confess?" he says, picking up the letter, ripping it to pieces.
the words left a wound, but what left a bigger wound was it was hueningkai who was saying those kind of words, right to her face. the boy who she's been chasing for almost 10 years hates me.
'"don't look at me, don't talk to me, don't even be next to me.'" he bellowed, leaving her alone in the soccer field.
she watched as her first love walks away, distressed and upset. she made him upset. she regretted for not realizing that she might've irritated him so much throughout the years.
a raindrop fell from the skies, landing on the letter. more raindrops poured, like buckets, and then it was raining. real hard. she didn't care if i came home with a soacked uniform. actually.. what did she care of? why was she here? why did she like him, or was she the bad one here? maybe she was too much of a dumbass to realize that. she should've listened to ryujin.
she jumped out of bed, once again. 2 nightmares in a single night. it was morning now, judging from the light that passed through her pale curtains.
'yuna! come down for breakfast!'
she didn't felt like eating. she didnt't feel like doing anything today. she stood up from bed and locked the door shut. she sat down, her back facing the door as she sank her wet face into her knees, wishing her little sister was right next to her.
[a/n: fyi the second dream yuna had didn't actually happen. its just her fear of what would happen if she confessed]
