"yuna, i promise i'm a good dancer.." jisung whined. "of course you are a good dancer, you go to that dance academy!" she remarked at the taller boy who was leaning onto her shoulders.

"if you want to dance just tell me!"

"i-i never said that.." she replied, her eyebrows reacting in confusion to his behavior. he seemed more confident.. and how does he not remember that he's basically a top dancer?

"c'mon! before it gets too crowded!" he yanked her hand as he ran down the stairs. "not too fast! what's gotten into you?"

her eyes trailed down his veiny hand, observing how he was grasping her hand like his life depended on it. his grip tightened when he almost tripped over simply by walking. she caught his shoulders and pushed him up.

"are you.. tipsy?.." she laughed, not fully grasping the situation. she hid her worry by trying to laugh it off, despite him not answering her question. it couldn't be. she watched the security herself. nothing seemed suspicious. or maybe he was really talkative and never chattered this much to her.

he was undaunted to notice the worry that was clearly shown by her facial features. "do you want to dance?" he asked, smiling like a little boy. "if it'll  wake you up, then alright."

hueningkai rubbed his eyes for the nth time. the blurrines was uneven yet everywhere, and he couldn't make out the fact that he was standing in front of a crowd of dancing teens.

wonyoung held his arm, noticing his constant eye rubbing. this must be his first time. "kai, are you alright?" she wanted a reaction out of him.

"yeah.. i'm fine." his words were beginning to overlap. the stage lights wasn't helping him too: the colors were changing and it just made his vision even worse. his feet felt like it would be lifted anytime, and he felt like he was floating above ground, loosing his sense of balance, wobbling like a penguin.

he wasn't responsive at all, and it irritated her. they were just going back to square one if they continued being quiet. she joined the crowd, bouncing her feet, swaying her arms around in no particular pattern.

she smiled over her shoulder, pulling him into the crowd alongside her, now stuck between the boulders of people. "loosen up! have some fun!"

i can't have fun if i'm losing balance and vision..

he simply stand idly, crashing with people as their voices yelled into his ears, crashing his eardrums. everything hurts. was it something he ate or drink? but wonyoung seemed perfectly fine after finishing one can..

he placed his hands into his ears, trying to spit out the sounds igniting his mind. everyone seemed to be having fun..

why was it only him?

only him that lost a chance.

something or someone who wanted to hold onto,

but he felt it was too late.

even in his phase, he could spot out the white aura of her in the crowd. it almost felt angelic that she was there, in the same crowd as he was, smiling and latching onto the shoulders of a taller boy.

the smile that could break or heal. the eyes that could hold all the stars in his galaxy. he could map out the feather wings she was gifted by.

who even decided to put whatever he drank in his drink? why would they do that?

but that didn't matter, because the blurriness was washing away, like a tide returning to it's home. suddenly he could mark out the edges of the people and objects right in front of him, and he could see it way clearer now. especially the girl in the white clothes.

maybe it was his eagerness that pushed him, starting to take small steps, squeezing into the small gaps between the people. maybe it was his ego. whatever it was, he wasn't stopping, and it wasn't like he could stop himself anyway: it was like an entirely different person had overtaken him.

the more he walked, the bigger and clearer he could see her form, and the face he cherished was more vibrant and shiny as ever. his field of vision almost narrowed only to her, and he could feel the world around him slow and stop, like it was only him and her.

he felt at the climax of a movie once he reached behind her. his shaky, trembling hands gave her shoulders a small tap, making her spin around to meet whoever was behind her.

she was a little irritated to find him cheekily looking at her, but she decided to be the mature one, and prepared to excuse herself, until she noticed his face inching closer and closer, feeling the warmth and comfort of his fingers intertwining with her's.

this is too close, she realized, feeling his short breaths on his face. now she was flustered, both from anger and embarrassment.

and he came an inch closer, and she knew it was wrong when she felt his lips touching her's for a brief moment. she imagined this too much for her own good: why did she feel a little happy?

the feelings shouldn't be mutual anymore.

transferring all of her energy to her hands, she touched his shoulders and gave him the strongest push she could. she stepped back, still remembering the touch of his lips, making her cheeks warm up, but she couldn't care less, since the environment was dark.

she was more concerned of what drove him to do it.

"what are you doing?" she asked breathlessly.

her words brought him into reality. by the time his brain started processing and had realized what he really had done, shaky and tough hands had grabbed him by the collar.

the pupils of jisung's eyes flared at his, the fingers grapsing his collar clenched even sharper and all of this happened in a flash before he pulled back his fist, landing a hit on his face.

driven by the force, hueningkai's body clashed against the crowd, and they backed up, creating space for the three. two male seniors rushed into him, grabbing his arms back. jaemin, who heard the gasps of the crowd and noticed a familiar friend in the crowd came to see what was going on.

and the shock on his face when he saw his gentle friend wildly being held back by a pair of seniors surpassed all other.

he held his shoulders, a worried and saddening expression he never showed on his face. he looked only at his eyes, trying his best to convince him.

"jisung, stop. tell me what's going on." jisung lunged further like a bull, shoving jaemin off him. but what he did seemed to ignite a sense of awareness in him, for the anger in his eyes suddenly disappeared once he finally acknowledged jaemin's worry.

rushing first hand into the scene, yeji stepped between a bleeding hueningkai being held up by the witnesses and jisung, who was breathing heavily more than ever.

"all three of you, get out of here. we need to talk."

[a/n: ik jisung prolly won't ever do this irl but i need to spice it up i feel so bad for writing this 😭😭😭😭]
