Fourteen

She decided to talk to Kuya Rod first before going back. At 9pm Deanna walked to their house and smile still on her face.

"How was the date?" Bea still on the living room drinking water.

"It was not a date. I just showed her around." Deanna sat down at the bar and got an apple.

"You had a good time?"

"The best." She smiled. "Why are you still up? Coach O clearly said lights out at 8."

"Why are you still out?" Deanna smiled at Bea's answer. "Uh... wala nag iisip isip lang."

"Ah. You and Jia fight?"

"No. Uh. Miguel. He's back."

"So? Nakausap mo naman na sya before diba? All good."

"This time it's different. They got divorced and before we went here Jia and I saw him, again."

FLASHBACK

Bea and Jia are at the mall, they just finished lunch and about to see a movie when they saw Miguel, standing at a blue corner shop. He got a panda teddy bear on his hand.

"That's..."

"I want to go home Hon." Jia started to walk away.

"Jia." She must have said it quite loud as Miguel snapped his head towards their direction.

Miguel let go of the panda and ran towards Bea. "Bei."

"Mig. When are you back?"

"Just yesterday. Kasama mo si Jia? Where is she?"

"She uh... she was not feeling well kanina pa. Pauwi na kami."

"Where are the others?"

Shit. Bea cursed, cause the first time that they met Mig after they broke up, they were with their respective teams, so they hid Jia easily. This time it's just the two of them and Bea haven't thought of any sensible answer to Miguel's question.

"Yes Miguel. Kami." They snapped their heads as there was Jia, standing, hands shaking. She reached in Bea's hand and clasped it. "Kami ni Bea."

"Ah." Miguel thought that Bea was just keeping Jia company. Maybe she had something to buy. His eyes went down to their clasped hands. When he was about to speak, Jia cut him off.

"Kami NA ni Bea."

"Ha?...hahaha. That's a good one Ji. You're still a good joker." When he realized that she wasn't joking, his smile melted. "You've got to be kidding me. This is to get back to me."

"If I want to get back to you I already stabbed you, so you can feel the pain that you have cause me."

"Jia naman..."

"Hey guys, can we not talk here?" Bea interrupted looking behind them, left and right cause the people passing by are looking at them. So they both agreed.

"Let's go to my apartment." Miguel said and Jia shook her head in disagreement.

"We don't have to talk.." Jia said.

"Let's go to mine." Bea cut off Jia.

"Hon..."

"You need this. You both need this. And to be honest I need this, too. To go on with our lives." Bea whispered to her girlfriend.
