"I can't believe you." I said as I was walking back and forth in front of a sitting Deanna Wong. "You had the chance to tell everything and yet you haven't."

It's like I'm scolding a child.

"It's not the best time."

"Oh yeah? When is the best time?" I asked as I stopped in front of her.

"I don't know." She said in frustration.

"I mean, you are taking chemo on her back, it's almost over and.. well I'm surprised that you still have a full head of hair. I mean that should be the take away. But still, you didn't tell her. Nandun ka na eh."

"I know Bei, just... Let me think for a second okay?" She stood up and went to her room. I shook my head in disbelief with this woman.

To think I'm already stubborn.

The following morning after I scolded Deanna not saying that she had leukemia when she had the chance, Jema came to me at my office.

"Jema." It was actually my first time to see her since then.

"Bei." She said.

"Uh.. Upo ka."  I offered and she obliged.

"I'm going to be direct, Bei.... Uhm.." She twiddled her thumbs. "Is Deanna...?"

"No." I immediately answered.

"... having an affair?"

"No."

"The truth Bea, please."

"You already know that's the truth."

Jema sighed. "I went to you cause I know you would say the truth cause you don't want anybody cheating on me cause Jia..."

"Yeah, thanks for reminding me." I said sarcastically.

"I know you and Deanna were talking and she had this speech to me yesterday explaining that she got something from you and.."

"Jema, she's not having an affair. You already know that. You just want it to hear from somebody else."

Jema blinked on my statement. "You said that I should be with her kahit anong mangyari, pero hindi ko naman ineexpect na ganto yung kelangang kong i-endure."

"I know. What happened was not intended by Deanna, the person was drunk and she got her off guard."

"Bea, I know what I saw."

"No, you saw Faith kissing Deanna and then after that you saw red. So you disregarded everything. Look, Jema, Deanna loves you so much. She can't live without you. And I know you are too."

She looked away and I saw her sniffled before wiping a tear from her cheek. "Bea, other than that.. bukod dun... may problema pa ba?"

I stopped. I was taken aback. I was caught in the middle.

I always tell anybody that knew about Deanna's condition that no matter what happens, we are not in the position to tell Jema that.

But right now, this chance, the chance to help my friend fix her relationship. I might as well just grab it.

"I..."

My phone rang. Skype call. I looked at my laptop that was still connected to the projector.
