"Can you play?" Her coach asked her.

"Yes coach, I just need someone to patch this up. It's been two days that should be at least healed." Deanna said.

The coach asked for their PT to looked at the wound. "Deanna. You sure you can play?" She nodded. Their PT looked at their coach.

"Well?" Coach asked.

"She can play." Deanna exhaled in relief. She wanted to play badly cause she was a senior. "But less minutes."

"I can play coach. Just like I promised, I brought my A game. Just patch me up."

"We can't risk putting you in full game. I'll let you play and just like she said, less minutes."

Deanna nodded and the nurse proceeded to dress the wound and put support on Deanna's shoulder.

Since their team has twice to beat advantage, they win this thing, they bring home the crown. That means this game really is important to Deanna cause she will be part of a history. It will be their first ever Championship for the volleyball tournament.

"Wong." She looked at her coach. She put up her thumb saying that she's fine.

'I'm fine.' She said to herself.

The match started and she was not a starting setter. Just like they agreed, less minutes.

24-23. Opposing team leads. Not bad, since the setter playing now is a converted setter and originally was a libero.

"Get ready." Her coach said. She nodded and touched her shoulder.

They got the first set. Deanna started the second set with a pretty strong start. 8-0. They continued their run until they won it, 25-18.

Third set. 15-8. They lead.

'Konti na lang'.

She said to herself, trying to calm, cause her wound is starting to ache. She had been mis-setting for 4 rallies now. Good thing that the referee didn't called for a violation.

She heard a whistle so she ran to her position ready to set. She looked at the opposing team and formulated her play. Their middle blocker was blocking her sight so it took her a second much longer than she was supposed to.

"Mine." She heard someone shouted.

She threw the ball towards the open but the ball was dug up.

'Tsk'.

She ran to the back line to get ready for reception. Their opponent did their play and their middle blocker touched the ball.

"Check!!" She shouted.

The ball was going outside, to her direction. She was looking up and running towards it. She reached over to dug it up when..

BAM.

*

"Deanna?" She heard her coach said. She immediately touched her wound. It was wet. "Blood."

When she was running to get the ball, she didn't saw that their libero was running towards it too. They collided and the latter's head slammed into her wounded shoulder.

"I can play." Deanna said in determination.

"I know, just let them patch it up." Her coach nodded to their PT who was holding a towel to cover Deannna's wound.
