Thirty-Three

"Where are we? Huh?"

That was Jia's cue to approach a police officer. "Hi, I would like to report a kidnapping."

Back on the warehouse. "We gave you an address."

"Where is Jema?"

"Jema, Jema, Jema. Puro na lang Jema!" He slapped Deanna.

"Argh!!"

"You must be thinking. I should've stay in US. Should've stayed there. But no, I will hunt you down." He snapped his finger and one of his guard put a folder in front of me. "Sign."

"No." He nodded to his guard and punched her in her tummy. Deanna coughed her lungs out after that.

"Sign."

"That all you got?" Still gasping her breath.

"Bring her in." Deanna's face glowed when he said that.

"Jema."

"In love na in love. Gosh Deanns, nanlabo agad mata mo? Si Bea to."

"Bea?!"

"Hi." She smiled at me and one of the guards pushed her to the seat next to Denna. "Aray. Wow, chivalry's not dead ah?"

"This isn't the time to joke around Bea!!!" Jia said on the police station.

"What does Bea has to do with my island?" 

"You know what Deanna, I'm a greedy person."

"Really?! Never pegged you for one." Bea said so one of the guards slapped her.

"Arggh!"

"You know I was a millionaire."

"Was." Deanna said.

The guards looked at him in askance. He instructed the guards to get out of the room first.

"Yes Deanna, was. Jake Cruz and I were business partners. He buys the lot that they want to put subdivision, I take care of the materials for the houses and everything. We conquered Surigao. We are planning to conquer Cebu, Davao, heck we were planning to conquer Manila. But my rebellious daughter fell in love with his daughter. Jade Cruz."

He get a cigarette and lit it. "We were okay with that, besides bisexuality is not news to us. You guys, influence many."

"Well..." Bea said proudly.

"Anyways, Jade and Camille were the best, the sweetest couple in town. They were happy, they were partying and drinking. They were in love, and I was starting to like this Jade Cruz. She's really magalang, mabait. She was beautiful. I was starting to treat her as my own daughter. Same goes with Jake to my daughter."

"We were talking about wedding, house, car, children, basically what the future holds for them. Until, Jade bought an island. It okay. She used her own money. But Camille, my daughter, wanted to co-own the island. But, this selfish Jade, disagreed."

"I asked her why she disagreed, she said that she doesn't trust Camille. That made me furious. They fought for days, of course. My daughter accused Jade that she was cheating."

"But it was your daughter, who's cheating." Deanna said.

Jon Snow smiled. "We found out that Jade has cancer, her parents was devastated. Any parent would be. They were going home from a meeting and they just found out when Jake ran past a red light and BAM!" He banged the table that made me and Bea startle. "Car crash."

"Our future projects were cancelled. Sponsors, they were dropping out. Finally, the day came that I have no more project. Totally zero. Nadah!"

"Jade didn't mourned. At least here in the Philippines, she flew to US. She said that she wants to get cure. She asked my daughter for a break up. Camille was devastated and as a parent you want those people who hurt your loved ones to suffer."
