Chapter 28: Gaara vs Naruto

“Eat shurikens…” Naruto said as he appears on a nearby branch. “Naruto!!” Sakura said and sighed in relief. “Glad to see you alive…” Shikamaru smirked. “I did say I can handle it” Naruto grinned. “Tch…showing off again.” Sasuke mumbled. ‘Looks like I made it…thanks to Shino’

Flashback

Naruto jumps from tree to tree to catch up to Sakura and Shikamaru. He then felt familiar chakras. It was Shino and Kankuro fighting once again. “Shino?” Naruto called out, he appears beside him.                                               

 “Naruto…” Shino said. “Tch…Now you?” Kankuro said annoyed.

“Shino, are you alright?” Naruto asked. Shino looks at Naruto, “Yeah…just go find Sasuke and help him.” he answered.

Naruto nodded and was about to leave, but Shino interrupted him.

“Wait, you should let my bugs help you. They’ll lead you to him.” Shino suggested.

Naruto was silent. “No need. I’m pretty good at detecting chakra.” Shino didn’t say anything else and nodded. “But…please tell Sasuke-“Shino suddenly said.

Flashback ends

 Naruto smiled and appears next to Sasuke. “I have a message from Shino to you.” Naruto said “Looks like I will not finish in ten minutes”Sasuke was surprised but he smirked. “Five minutes are already up…” Naruto looked back at Gaara whose now holding his head in pain. ‘Damn it…!’ Gaara mentally thought. A flashback of Gaara when he was young. He was with Uncle Yahamaru, younger brother of his mother. Gaara learned what love through him. Gaara was bullied because the tail beast is in him. The beast name is Shukaku, the one tails. Gaara was attacked by the one most precious to him, Yahamaru. Gaara couldn’t believe it. Gaara found out his father, the Kazekage hired him for the kill. But Yahamaru told Gaara he was willing, he was going to do it anyways without an order. Yahamaru tried to love Gaara but the memory of his dead sister haunted him.

Yahamaru explained the name ‘Gaara’. Yahamaru said he was never really loved. Yahamaru then used an explosive tag hoping that he got Gaara killed with him. But Gaara sand protected him and Yahamaru died. Because of that Gaara brutally find blood for his “Mother”. “I won’t trust anymore!! I won’t love!” Gaara screamed. That had surprised Naruto. He understood what Gaara felt. Naruto got down from the tree. Gaara pulled hard and he got his arm out from the shuriken. Although he force, his hand was able to heal. He got up and looked at Naruto with fire in his eyes. Gaara then went to attack Naruto, but Naruto gracefully dodges all Gaara attempts.

Sasuke couldn’t believe his eyes. It was difficult for him to dodge his attacks even with the sharingan, yet Naruto’s dodging it effortlessly. Naruto jumped and did the touch-me-not jutsu, which is a fire release jutsu. Naruto also hid shurikens within the fireballs. The fire was useless against Gaara. His sand had protected him from the shurikens. ‘Tch…fire is useless against his sand eh…’ Naruto thought as he dodges another attack from Gaara. “Since there isn’t water around, I might as well create some.” Naruto said. Shikamaru, Sakura, and Sasuke looked confused but was amazed as well. Naruto did an unknown hand seal that they didn’t know. “Doton: Yomi Numa (Earth release: Swamp of the underworld)” Naruto said.

The surrounding area had turned into a swamp, making it hard to move around. The technique had surprised Gaara. He knew that water can slow sand, even his. Naruto then jumped on a floating tree trunk. Gaara tried to attack Naruto again, but it was hard to move around. Even if he was running on the swamp water it slowed him down. Naruto punched Gaara to cancel his attack. Gaara sand was still able to block it but Naruto noticed it was slower. Naruto quickly made a hand seal. “Suton: Teppodama (Water release: Gunshots)” he said. Naruto aims at the sand when it instantly showed up to shield Gaara.
