"Hey, Alpha. It's me. Mason. Look, I know Brady said you were taking a break, but I could really use your help in Mystic Falls. There are vampires everywhere, Sheriff Forbes can't handle it, and...and my brother died. I don't understand it. One minute, he was fine, and the next, he was just gone.
"Anyway, please come to Mystic Falls. I'm begging you. My nephew is asking about the curse, and I don't know what to tell him. He's curious.
"I hope to hear from you soon. Bye."
As the message ends with a loud beep, Lexi sits silently in an empty apartment on the couch. She looks up at the pack staring at her. "This is where hell begins," she says.
The McCall pack shares glances of confusion. "What do you mean?" The Alpha asks.
With a sigh, Lexi forces a smile on her face. "I go back to America," she replies. "And everything falls apart."
