Sitting in the open truck, Lexi lets her leg hang out as she stares up at the stars. She does not react when Stefan wakes up behind her. "You must have really pissed Rebekah off," she says, hearing him remove the long metal bar from his gut. "Actually, you really pissed all of us off."
Stefan rolls his eyes, jumping out of the truck. "Come on!" Lexi groans as she follows him through the night. "Really off to save your damsel again? All she's done is put your life in danger again and again. Is she really worth it?"
In a burst of anger, Stefan lunges at her. She squeals when he wraps his hand around her throat. "I'm not in the mood," he hisses. "Where are they?"
"Why would I tell you?" Lexi chuckles. "Is this what she's into because..." She glances down. Stefan lets go and continues stomping off. Lexi follows. "You know, with teenage romances, they never end well," she says.
"Lexi, seriously, shut up."
"I heard your best friend's name was Lexi," she says with a sigh. "Alexia Branson. She had promise. I wonder what she's up to now."
"How did you know Lexi?" Stefan asks, now frowning.
Lexi shrugs. "I turned her. Saved her from a man, and then she died with my blood in her system." Stefan pauses as Lexi walks past him. "Is it so surprising that I did not mean to turn her?" She asks. "I'm not like my siblings. I never intentionally submit someone to living hell."
"Right, because you're the good one," Stefan replies with a roll of his eyes. "Lexi Mikaelson. Youngest Original. The one who shows mercy and kindness. Where was that in Chicago, hmm?"
Lexi nods her head along with his words, pursing her lips together. "Stefan Salvatore. Younger brother. The one who is supposed to have a personality."
Stefan just shakes his head as the high school comes into view. "What a comeback," he mutters.
"Admit it, you had the tiniest bit of fun," Lexi teases as she skips next to him. "I know I did."
"You seemed pretty upset when I talked to you about it. What happened to 'Screw Klaus, he killed my werewolf friend?'"
Lexi opens the door for Stefan and allows him to slide through before she responds. "He seemed pretty content when I told him your little secret. Quite upset with you, but quite alright with me."
Stefan stops before the gym, his expression hardening. Both can smell the blood inside; both can smell Elena's perfume mixed with Klaus' unique scent of forest and dog. "How's he gonna react when I tell him your little secret, huh?"
Lexi simply smiles. "Tell him. I dare you."
"Klaus!" Stefan shouts as he pushes into the gym. Lexi rolls her eyes as she follows, her arms crossed over her chest. She catches Elena sitting up in the bleachers with her legs tucked against her chest.
"Come to save your damsel, mate?" Klaus asks. He stands in the center of the gym beside two terrified teens.
Stefan shakes his head. "I came to ask for your forgiveness and pledge my loyalty."
Lexi laughs, her voice echoing in the gymnasium. She jumps onto the bleachers and decides to sit directly behind Elena. "Hello, there," she says as she places her hand on the girl's shoulder. Elena flinches but Lexi's fingers dig in.
"You broke that pledge once already," Klaus says.
"Elena means nothing to me anymore," Stefan says. Lexi scoffs when his heart skips a beat. "Whatever you ask of me, I will do."
Klaus exchanges a long look with Lexi. "Fair enough. Let's drink on it." He motions to the two teenagers. "Kill them."
Elena shakes her head as tears fill her eyes; Stefan only stares at the two humans.
