"This is what I get for helping."
Lexi lies on the floor of an old, ragged house, staring up at the ceiling. Her tied hands rest on her right side, burning liquid dripping onto the floor. To her left, empty syringes lay on a metal table beside the closed oak door.
"This is what I get for coming back to bloody America." Lexi groans as she adjusts her hands, hissing through her teeth as the liquid-coated ropes burn her skin. "Trevor!" She shouts. "I'm going to kill you!"
"Shut it!" A voice from the other side of the door yells. "Or you'll get more vervain, understand?"
Letting loose a sick cackle, Lexi jumps to her feet. "You do not understand, Rose," Lexi's eyes flash blue in the dim room. "I won't just kill you. I'll tear your intestines out and feed them to Trevor before I take a bite from his neck."
She gets no reply.
"You cannot keep me in here forever, Rose! Whatever spell this is will end soon enough!" Lexi shouts, failing to hide the desperation in her voice. "I'll get out and destroy you!"
"Shut up!" A masculine voice yells as footsteps approach. Lexi smirks as the door opens to reveal a disheveled Trevor. The moment he steps into the room, Lexi screams.
The wooden panels covering the windows shatter into splinters, all heading for Trevor. The vampire ducks, covering his head as he hides behind the door. "Come now, Lexi!" He groans when he sees the sunlight illuminating the room with a smug Original Alpha in the center of it. "Can't we get past our history?"
Lexi's fangs poke through her gums. "You mean the history where you left me for Katerina?" She growls. "Or the one where you betrayed my family and helped a manipulative, deadly doppelgänger escape survival? Did you know I could have saved her?" Trevor's expression falls. "The irony is you've been running for five hundred years for no reason. Elijah will find you. And he will kill you for your crimes against the Mikaelsons."
"Elijah knows where we are," Another vampire walks into the room. "He's meeting us here."
"It's as if you're handing yourselves over," Lexi snaps. "How pathetic, Rose. Still following this piece of shit after five hundred years."
Rose rolls her eyes. "Enough. Or you'll wake the doppelgänger."
Lexi's eyes flash blue as she shows off her canines. "Great. Another one." Flopping onto the ground, Lexi falls silent as she glares at her captors. When they do not leave, she asks, "Don't you have other things to do besides bother me? Get on with it!"
The two exchange an annoyed look before they leave, closing the door behind them.
"I feel like I walked into the movie theater thirty minutes into the movie," Stiles Stilinski, resident human, says as he looks back at the pack. "What the hell?"
Lexi turns to look at the invisible pack. "Currently, I am waiting for Elijah to walk in and figure out there's another doppelgänger."
"You can see us?" Peter Hale asks.
Lexi nods. "And it seems Dahlia believes this to be important. All of you are here. Lovely." Sarcasm drips from her voice as she turns her gaze back to the ceiling. "I apologize for the conditions of this trip through my memories. As I said before, once my beta calls me, all hell breaks loose. That includes this."
Lexi's glances over each member of the pack, her chest crumbling under pressure. "It is getting much harder to do this," she says. "Dahlia is getting strong. You need to understand, what happens with Nik... It's not me."
"What do you mean?" Scott McCall asks. "What happens?"
"Nothing I am proud of," she replies. "But I do not regret it either." Her gaze drifts towards the door. "That doppelbitch deserved a few months of pain."
