With a suitcase by her side, Lexi looks around the large apartment overlooking Washington D.C. There is no trace of anyone having lived there—just how she likes it. With a sigh, she steps up to the door, pulling it open.

She blinks when she sees Elijah with a raised hand at the door with a sheepish Elena Gilbert behind him. The suitcase drops from her hand as she lunges, wrapping her arms around him. "You're ok," she breathes as she inhales his scent.

Jerking away from him, she rubs the ash from her nose. Terror flashes in her eyes when she sees his burnt suit. "What the bloody hell happened to you?" She demands, flashing her eyes at Elena, "What did you do to him?"

"They tried to get rid of me," Elijah replies with a sly smirk. He produces a silver dagger from his suit, placing it in her hands. "I believe Damon tried to burn me to death. Obviously, he could not succeed."

"You, get in here," she says as she tugs him through the door. "You," She holds her hand up before Elena can come in. "Leave." She shuts the door.

"Alexis," Elijah drawls, sending her a look. "Let her in."

"I'm trying to help!" Elena yells from the other side of the door.

Pressing her lips together, Lexi frowns. "Do you remember what I said? If you hurt my brother, which you did, and lied to me about it, which you did, I would kill you. Now, I don't know about you, darling, but that urge might just take over if I see your face again."

Rolling his eyes, Elijah gently pushes Lexi off the door, ignoring her exclamation of offense, and lets Elena in. The girl shyly steps in, avoiding Lexi's seething gaze. "I hate you," Lexi says.

Elena simply takes a seat in the foyer, her eyes moving over the bar, grand piano, and balcony.

Lexi sighs when she looks back at Elijah. "I have some of your suits in here." She pats her suitcase. "It seems I'll be staying longer than expected."

Elijah kisses her cheek before he takes her suitcase into one of the rooms stemming from the foyer. Lexi takes a seat at the piano, leaning against the keys as she glares at Elena. "Do you have anything you wish to say?"

"I'm sorry," she mumbles.

"Maybe you are different from Katerina after all," Lexi chuckles. "She would never apologize." Elena wiggles in her seat. "So, I assume Elijah's witches are no longer with us."

"No," Elena replies, twisting to look at Lexi. "I'm sorry."

"And Katerina?" Lexi stands, circling Elena's chair with a hand running over her shoulders. "She would have been released from his compulsion when he died."

"Klaus took her." Lexi throws herself on the couch and rests her head against one of the throw pillows. Elena just sighs. "We think that she may be dead."

"I doubt that," Lexi scoffs as Elijah walks back into the room, a new suit on his body. "Not his style. Death would be too easy for her after what she did."

"I don't understand." Elena leans forward in her chair, her eyes flickering between the siblings. Elijah sits at Lexi's feet, sending them a glance of annoyance. "You say that you want Klaus dead," she misses Lexi flinch. "but you still made Katherine pay for betraying Klaus."

With a sigh, Elijah says, "I have my own reasons for wanting Katerina to pay, There was a time...I'd have done anything for Klaus. He is my brother."

Elena's jaw drops. "Wait...he's your—"

"He's our brother," Lexi repeats.

"I heard that," Elena says. "I'm still processing."

"Alexis, some tea?" Elijah asks; with a wave of her hand, a teacup appears before him. With a grateful smile, he takes the cup and says, "I'm a little behind on the times, but I believe the term you're searching for is 'O.M.G.'" He sips the tea.
