Only Scott, Stiles, and Lydia stand in the crowded halls of Beacon Hills High School. They glance at each other, all of them terribly confused by their surroundings. "Why are we at school?" Stiles asks as the bell rings overhead.

Scott opens his mouth to speak, but he stops when he sees a familiar brunette was into the nearest classroom. "Allison?" He breathes. His legs move on their own as he races after the girl with Stiles right behind him. "Allison!"

Lydia chases after him, her eyes glued on the brunette girl fleeing from view. She calls after her best friend, even though she knows the huntress cannot hear her.

The girl sits before a floppy-haired young boy, sending him a shy smile before taking out her notebook. Next to them sits a boy with a buzzcut, his expression contorted in disgust as he looks at the two.

"Why are we in sophomore year?" Stiles asks. "And, damn, Scott. You could've told me that buzzcut sucked."

Scott does not even laugh. He can only stare at the huntress before him—the huntress taken too soon. His heart beats wildly in his chest whenever she smiles back at a younger version of himself; his gut twists every time he thinks he catches her eye.

Lydia watches as a younger version of herself struts into the room with a content smirk on her face. She sits down beside the brunette, sending the girl a smile. Watching the interaction, Lydia never noticed how much Stiles paid attention, his eyes always glancing at her every time she moved.

"What does this have to do with Lexi?" Stiles does his best to avoid looking at the brunette. Guilt fills his body every time he catches a glimpse of her brown hair flowing down her shoulders or hears her laugh. "Lexi's not—"

Books slam into a desk.

Every student jumps, even the older teens, and they turn to the front of the classroom. A blonde woman smiles at the group as she straightens her back. "Hello, class," she says, her American accent strikingly normal. "My name is Ms. Adams. Unfortunately, Mr. Bowden has retired early, leaving you all in my care. He won the lottery," she mutters under her breath with a small smirk. "So, I will take role."

"What the hell?" Scott breathes.

Lexi looks down at her role sheet, her eyes scanning the names. "You know what? Why don't I just pass this around? Put a check next to your name, please." She steps up to Allison's desk, a secret look in her eyes. "You can start, Ms..."

"Allison," she says with a smile, already checking her name. "Allison Argent."

"Nice to meet you." Lexi turns back to the board with a sigh. "Now, who would like to catch me up on what you've been learning? The Renaissance? Ancient civilizations? Are we on America yet?"

Stiles raises his hand. "We're on the Renaissance," he says with a nod of his head.

"All right then, Mister?"

"Stiles Stilinski."

"Ah, like the Sheriff," Lexi replies. "Any interest in following in his footsteps?"

Stiles just opens his mouth without responding.

Lexi waves her hand, "Sorry." She chuckles. "I tend to go on tangents, which I'm sure many of you will enjoy. But, we still have to learn, so..." She grabs a paper off of her desk and holds it up. "I offer tutoring for any subject you need help with. Whether it is math or science, English or art, I can help. Just sign up. I will email you all a link to an online form if you would like to take advantage of this unique opportunity. I also have office hours I will email out as well."

Her eyes land on Scott; her nostrils flare.

"Maybe I should introduce myself more," she says, tapping her chin. "My name is Lexi Adams. I used to live here in Beacon Hills before college. I attended college in Boston—terribly cold compared to here—and have 8, going on 9, doctorates in a multitude of fields, including medicine, writing, music, and supernatural mythology. So, if you really want, you may call me Dr. Adams, but I don't care very much." She watches as both Scott and Stiles share a worried look. "Mythology a hobby of mine. Quite interesting if you ever want to talk about it. Any questions for me?"
