chapter 6

kairi soon woke up on a sunday morning, he first checked his phone while rubbing his eye with his other hand.

he saw mattias message from hours ago,

im okay, thank you for everything
i love you

i love you.

that's what got kairi feeling weird, like obviously it's his best friend and obviously he loves him. should he reply back to make sure he's okay?

dumbass had to sleep early. kairi thought, he's probably dead or some shit

kairi started twiddling his thumbs trying to think of something to text his best friend, why the fuck is this so complicated? he's my best friend. kairi thought again, he shook his head out of it and typed.

to: mattia🤩
hey, sorry i fell asleep but love you too

he shuts his phone off pondering, should i have added the 'i' or was that too weird. shut up kairi, it's your best friend. stop over thinking every-

his phone dinged to mattias set ring tone, which is a distinct one. (how cute is that?)

i texted back kairi and shut my phone off, and put it on my night stand. i sighed as i stared up to the ceiling.

"you're a fucking disgrace mattia, you know that? you're just gonna end up like the rest of them." my dad spat, making me clench my jaw.

"maybe you should be a better father." i quietly reply, quickly regretting my words as he slaps me across the face.

i shook my head of the running thoughts going through my head, i sat a up a bit, wincing at the sudden pain that shot through my hand.

i examine it, sighing again. 

i ran up to my room and slammed my door, punching the wall next to it with all my might. seeing the plaster fall off my knuckles along with gushing blood, "shit."

the only way to get myself help was to leave the house, so i bolted down the stairs and was stopped by him. again.

"where do you think you're going?" my dad asked lowly. i gulped at the sight of him.

i thought of the first name that popped into my head, "k-kairis."

"that fag? no wonder he's your 'favorite' " my dad said with making air quotations with his hands, "now i know another reason why you're a disgrace."

i scoffed and pushed through him, running to the door and slamming it behind me, the trail of blood was the only thing i left behind. 

i shook my head once more, getting up to get ready of the day until my mom opens the door, i jump a bit.

my mom sighed at the look i gave her, "he came by again, didn't he?" i nodded, trying to not cry.

"baby, i'm so sorry." she came up to me to give me a hug, i thought of what kairi said and hugged her tighter.

"is it okay if i stay by kairi for a few d-days?" i ask hesitantly.

"oh, of course honey! i'll talk to your father and make up something, he'll believe it." my mom smiles while she lets go of the hug.

"thank you, love you!" i whispered, mom walking away with a nod.

i took my phone out to text kairi.

is it still okay if i stayed over your house for a bit?

kairi texted back immediately, i instantly  chuckled.

yes of course, i'm bored so hurry up bitch luv x

i laughed, how dumb, i thought.

as i packed up my nike bag, kissed my mom goodbye and made my way to kairis house.
