chapter 19

8:35 am
mattia woke up to the sound of puking, he ripped the covers off him and bolted to the bathroom. he slowly opened the door to see kairi laying on the bathroom floor, with puke all over his mouth.

"oh god, kai." mattia whispered, as he bent down to sit kairi up and hugged the boy. "mhhm" was all that came out of his mouth to reassure that he was fine. mattia smiled and hugged him a bit tighter.

"i'm never-r drinking again." kairi mumbled with some hiccups. mattia chuckled as he let go of the hug to examine the boys face once more. kairis was was slightly messy, his mouth had reminisce of throw up on it. mattia reached for some toilet paper and wrapped it around his hand to clean him up.

kairi moaned once again, and put his head in the toilet to throw up some more. the sound of it made mattia queasy but he kept his composure so his friend wouldnt freak out even more.

"okay," kairi sighed and wiping his mouth "i'm done." he put his hand on his head rubbing his temples, crying about how much it hurt. "oh baby," mattia smiled and hugged him again.

they stayed there for a few minutes until mattia got up to kairi advil & some water. when he was in the kitchen, he was contemplating whether to ask kairi if he remembered what he said last night. maybe once he's stops crying. he thought.

he came back to the bathroom and handed kairi the condiments, he drank the full glass once he was done and reached for the counter to put it back on.

mattia helped him get up and carried him to bed in bridal style, he was going to lecture his poor hung over best friend but he decided not to, since it'll probably upset kairi more than he usually is. his phone suddenly buzzed, he took it out of his pocket and checked that alejandro texted him.

alejandro: yo why did y'all leave last night? were you guys good?

mattia: kai was throwing up and he didn't feel good. are y'all good tho?

alejandro: hungover as fuck

mattia chuckles and shook his head, he looked up at kairi who was half asleep, he admired how cute he was looking sleeping on the pillow.

kairi fluttered his eyes opened, his headache was slightly gone, his eyes were still puffy; he leaned up a bit and saw mattia was gone.

he shook his head and grabbed his phone, he texted him.

to mattia:
where are you?

kairi sighed and laid his head back down on the pillow, he rubbed his eyes and then he remembered everything that happened last night, like it hit him like a brick.

"i think i'm in love with you."

his eyes popped open as his mind kept on replaying those seven words.

are you fucking kidding me. kairi thought, he scoffed in embarrassment knowing mattia knows. he heard the door open and he tried to keep his composure.

mattia walked in with a big smile on his face and some bags, "hey kai! sorry i didn't answer but i bought some snacks and stuff-" he looked up and saw how kairi looked. his eyes were slightly watery, his nose red.

he knew why he looked like that, he blinked it out and kept his smile, "what's wrong?"

"i-i remembered." kairi whispered, pursing his lips trying not to sob.

mattia walked and hugged kairi, as he sobbed into his chest. he rubbed circles around his back.
"don't cry, it's not that deep baby."

kairi sniffed through his tears, "it was way too early a-and i don't k-know why i said it." mattia suddenly gets sad, i mesn yeah he was drunk but i guess he really didn't mean it.

"we all say drunken shit that doesn't make sense. yknow' drunk words can be sober thoughts, kai. and i don't judge either way." mattia reassures. kairi getting lowkey upset again. he picked up his head to look at him.

"you aren't in love with me is what you're saying?"

"i-i never said that."

"you are acting like it."

mattia clicked his tongue and makes deep eye contact with kairi, "listen. i don't know how to-to be in love. because of jenna and my dad and all that bullshit. i just, i need time. and we aren't even dating yet, so let's take it slow. okay?" mattia caressed the boys cheek, making the small boy smile.

kairi stopped smiling and laid back down, letting go of mattias grip. he did feel bad for expressing all that, but he didn't want to fake and say that he's ready when he's not.

he felt like he was in love, but he was scared of commitment ever since jenna fucked him over.

kairi, on the other hand, never loved anyone the way he loved mattia. it was a different type of love, like his eyes would sparkle, his chest would flutter. he's happy with him.

he just hoped mattia realizes that.

anyway, sorry this chapter took so long! schools been a pain in the ass.
