chapter 11

it was an early saturday morning, sunshine came through the blinds, mattia fluttered his eyes open meeting them with a sleeping kairi. the sun lightly meeting with his face.

mattia chuckled softly at kairis smushed face in the pillow, he knew he was in a deep slumber. but he couldn't help but stare at him.

the smaller slightly groaned, making the boy who was awake nervous. was he up? or was he just groaning?

no, he was sleeping still.

the taller reached under his pillow for his phone, it was 9:36 am. the boy soon got bored, until kairi started to wake up.

"what time is it?" was the first thing he asked, his voice raspy.

"9:36." mattia replied, answering his snaps and watching stories.

kairi slightly nodded and turned away to reach for his own phone, thanking god to himself since it was saturday again.

mattia on the other hand, was already wrapped in his own thoughts. he was constantly thinking about the last few weeks, he turned over to see kairis back, slightly flexing every time he moved.

kairi was watching edits of fans did, and came across one of the two best friends.

"hey mattia, watch this with me." mattia scooted closer and picked his head up over kairi to watch the video.

it was a edit a fan of if they dated, the old videos of them doing those tiktoks plastered a smirk on both of their faces.

mattia snorted, "jesus we would've been so cute." kairi nodded with a laugh, turning his head to meet their faces centimeters away.

they both stare at eachother, finding comfort in each other's eyes. kairi giggled in timidness and said softly, "let's go out." he gets out of bed and goes to the kitchen.

mattia still of course laid in bed, with not much thought.

later on that day, mattia was picking up robert & roshaun. kairi went to alejandros to wait along with alvaro since the gang was going to eat somewhere.

as soon as alvaro went to the bathroom, alejandro moved next to kairi on the bed. "kairi, tell me the truth and i won't tell anyone."

kairis head shot up from his phone, "with what?"

alejandro sighed, "what are you and mattia doing?"

the smallers head cocked to the side, "what do you mean?"
"come on man, there's something there." alejandro replied, "i can tell."

"uh-how?" kairi didn't even know what to think, he couldn't even think of anything to say. why are they suddenly questioning him?

"-because the way you look at him, dumbass." alvaro finished off and shut the door. "and mattia flirts with you more than anyone else in this room, and we are all the closest."

kairi scoffed in annoyance to cover up his flushed his face, "no, him and i just have a special bond i'm guessing."

well, that didn't help shit.

"special bond? don't you hear yourself?" alvaro asked in a accusing voice. "you like him and you don't even know it."

alejandro studied kairis' body language, he was angry. his cheeks were flushed with embarrassment, his arms were slightly folded. he was about to blow.

alvaro was rambling on how his two best friends are in love still, kairi just stared at the floor infront of him.

"-come on kairi. there's something t-"

"alvaro, stop." alejandro whispered.

alvaro shot his head back at his friend, "wasn't this the thing we were all talking about?" right when he said that, both of their faces dropped. they turned slowly at kairi, who had tears in his eyes.

"fuck all of you, i-i dont." kairi responds, slightly defensive.

"and even if i did, it wouldn't happen anyway."

kairi walked out of the room, leaving his two friends with saddened faces. the boy opened the front door, meeting with mattia, robert & roshaun.

"hey-wait woah are you okay?" mattia asked, changing his facial expression quickly.

"no, i'm-im not." kairi replies, staring at robert & roshaun. the two both knew what happened, and decided to stay quiet.

"move." he softly walked past them, tears flowed down his cheeks. the cold air making it even worse.

robert walked in first and walked quickly to alejandros room, the two looked up to see the boys feared face.

"he's, i mean he looks mad."

mattia bursts through the door with an angered expression, "what the fuck was that all about?"

none of them answered, so he started to look at the weakest one in the room.

"ale."

alejandro dropped his gaze, "what?"

mattia walked closely to the boy and asked again, "what happened?"

the spanish boy swallowed his fear, and the others were praying he won't say it. well, the angels didn't make it in time.

"we asked if there was-was anything going on between you two."

roshaun closed his eyes in anger, robert face palmed and alvaro was scared for his life.

mattia fluttered his eyes in rage, "you're fucking joking right? why would i, i ever? you guys put something in his head you shouldn't have!"

the italian couldn't even believe what was happening, and the boys mind was racing. even if he liked the boy he couldn't anyway, he knew if something good happened, his dad would that away. especially kairi.

"nothing to say, hm?" mattia stood there, watching all of his friends stare at the floor or the wall.

it took everything in him to not beat the fuck out of him, he didn't want to end up in jail.

"alright. i'm gonna go look for our best friend now, hopefully he doesn't do anything, not like it's any of your concern." he walked out quietly, slamming the front door.
the four boys sighed, alejandro was trying so not to cry. he blamed himself for it.

kairi walked to the nearest park, crying out all of his anger, his sadness, and everything in between. he hated being so sensitive, but his best friends were asking so many questions to the point where he needed me it to stop.

"kai?" he heard a small voice, and he knew it was mattia.

"what?"

"oh thank god, i found you!" mattia says relieved.

"how did you find me here anyway?" kairi cleared his throat to not make it sound like he was bawling his little eyes out.

"i know you." mattia sat next to him on the bench, staring at the small boy.

the two sat in a silence where the tension was so thick, they just wanted the night over with. they didn't even know what else to say to eachother; cause there wasn't anything to say.

kairi couldn't think, and he couldn't even talk to his best friends anymore, and especially not even mattia. he needed someone new, someone who can give him really good advice.

he had an idea pop into his head, "hey mattia? you still have a car?"

mattia nods, "yeah, why?"

"can you take me to the mall?"
