chapter 8

when the night fell, alvaro & alejandro left together. mattia yawned , and stretched his arm making his shirt lift up a bit.

kairi, of course. takes a peak.
a quick one, and then proceeds to look down at snapchat, answering his other friends.

"i'm tired, what time is it?" mattia asks, kairi looks up a bit to see the time off his phone, "10:56."

"fuck we have school tomorrow right?"

"mhm." kairi hums.

mattia groans and walks out to go the bathroom to get himself ready for bed, and still has no idea where he's sleeping.

the italian takes a look at himself in the mirror, there was small eye bags that formed because of last night, of his restless sleep.

"disgrace."

this has been going on for awhile. that one word is the only thing that's stays in his mind, it's been there for awhile.

this is what started him to be cold, and as angered prominent.

his dad has ruined his old self, he missed being genuinely happy. all his friends missed that smile where his eyes even brightened up.

mattia runs the faucet and splashed his face to try to get rid of the bags under his eyes. he stares at himself again.

'disgrace.'

"s-stop." mattia whispered to himself.

'you're useless. '

he runs his hands through his hair to make it stop, his dads voice stays in his mind; he can't even hear his own anymore.

'you're nothing, and you will always be.'

he whimpered, trying to make it stop. his inner demons was his weakness, he never feared anything as more.

'i hope you di-'

"mattia?"

mattia opened his eyes and heard the light-sunny voice,

they stopped.

he swallowed, "yeah?"

"are...are you okay?" kairi asked hesitantly, he knew that mattia was upset at something, he didn't want to get him even more upset.

and mattia knew that too.

"n-yeah i just..yeah i'll be out." mattia breathed, putting his hands on the sink.

"alright, i'll let you be." kairi replied, he wanted to leave the taller alone; but he knew he couldn't stay.

mattia, on the other hand. wish he did stay.

he was so confused as to why it stopped to his voice, maybe he didn't pay attention to them cause he was disturbed?

maybe he can help?

he then shrugged it off and headed out the bathroom, with a semi-confused face.

kairi cleared his throat, "okay, well you can sleep in the bed with me since..i-i don't know we usually-"

mattia chuckled at kairis awkwardness, "i know, kai. we do it all the time."

"okay," kairi exhaled. the two teens went into the smallers king-sized bed.

"goodnight, kai." mattia whispered turning away from kairi.
"goodnight..mattia." kairi replies back in a whisper. he stared at the taller boys clothed back.

kairi  couldn't sleep for shit, he always had this issue. probably because his mind kept on up at night, same with mattia. mattia sighed and flipped to the other side to face the wasian.

kairi looked down to his hands under the blanket to make it not obvious he was staring at mattia.

"are you awake?"

"yeah."

mattia leaned up to see the time, 3:56 am.

"i don't know how to sleep anymore." he put his hands on his face.

"i don't know either." kairi says softly.

thank god it was too dark and the moon didn't shine through yet, the two boys were staring at eachother for awhile. just as confused.

they stared at eachother which felt like hours when it was just minutes.

kairi soon fell asleep soundly, when mattia didn't.

mattia raised his hand and rubbed the smaller boys face lightly, just incase he woke up to that. he wouldn't know how to respond in the next morning.

he cracked a small smile, and soon enough this eye fluttered into a deep, deep sleep.
