HARRY'S POINT OF VIEW
Ugh, I'm so bored.
I don't even know what I'm doing here. Jeffrey said it would be good for the upcoming album to be seen at public places and all that, but now that I'm here it just feels like a waste of time. I'd give anything to be sitting on my sofa at home.
I take a look around. Everyone seems so used to this type of lifestyle. It's so boring.
Suddenly, something catches my attention. It's a girl, she's young and pretty, but you can tell she clearly doesn't belong here. She's dancing, for instance. Nobody dances here, they're all too boring and too concerned about their public image that they've forgotten how fun it is to not care at all.
I smile to myself as I watch the girl spin round and spill a bit of her drink on the floor. She notices, but she just laughs and carries on dancing.
I start walking towards her, filled with curiosity. Who is she? Why is she here?
As I get closer I notice she's very pretty. But a different kind of pretty. It's not the Victoria's Secret model pretty, it's the 'I don't know I'm beautiful' pretty.
Once I'm next to her, she notices I'm staring at her and gives me a strange look.
"What?", she says, frowning, and I realise I might've looked like some weird stalker.
"Can I join your dancing?"
She laughs and nods, "Of course."
I start moving to the rhythm of the music. At first, I'm very aware that I'm surrounded by people, but as she takes my hand and involves me a bit more, I forget everything and focus on her.
Oh, how I missed this feeling. It's so refreshing to do whatever you feel like not caring about everyone else.
Once the song finishes, she points at me with the hand I'm not holding and asks me, "Do I know you?".
I laugh. I get it all the time, people see my face on TV but can't remember who I am exactly.
"Have you seen James Bond?", I say.
"No!", she screams, "I mean, I have seen the film, but you can't be from there!"
She stares at me for a few seconds while she thinks and I grin.
"Are you really James Bond?", she finally says. I burst into laughter. She's so innocent it's cute. "Wait.", she continues, "You're a singer! That's it! You're from that band!"
Well, turns out all young people know me, and she's no exception. I shrug and nod.
"One Direction.", I say.
"Wait, don't tell me your name. It's on the tip of my tongue.", I brush my hair back and wait for her to work it out, "Was it... Zayn? Wait, no, no. Louis."
I shake my head, "I guess you're not into pop music."
"I'm sorry.", she whispers and gives me a puppy look. Why am I enjoying this so much? People are usually so intimidated by me, but she seems to not care at all and I like that.
"It's Harry."
"Harry Styles! Of course! I knew it! Why did you tell me? It would've come to me!"
I laugh again. I can tell she's had a bit too much to drink, but she finishes her glass in one go. "I'm Layla.", she continues.
"Layla, that's a beautiful name."
"Thank you."
She smiles and I feel a tickle inside me. She's definitely got that one thing.
She lets go of my hand, which I find a bit harsh, but we continue dancing together.
After a while, she leans on me and whispers to my ear, "I like your moves."
I spin round and dedicate her my very best moves, only making me look like a complete fool. She laughs and claps her hands. Then, she dances around me. Wow, just wow. I open my mouth in surprise and pretend I'm speechless. She winks at me and sticks her tongue out.
She continues dancing and I stare at the way her hair moves from side to side. I feel the urge to know everything about her: where is she from, what's her zodiac sign, where does she work, what's her favourite colour, what does she have for breakfast...? Just everything.
"Hey, you wanna go outside? It's so hot in here.", she proposes.
"Sure."
She smiles at me, and I realise this woman is going to be stuck in my head forever.
