Emiri followed Edgeshot around in alleyways, the both of them working on not being seen by the public. According to Edgeshot, being seen by citizens while on patrol was tiring and gave their position away to any villain that might be lurking nearby.
The night went by smoothly, neither of them spotted any villains and they returned to the dojo sometime around midnight. Emiri was dead tired by the time they had returned. Edgeshot lead her to a small room where a futon had been laid out for her.
"Be up and ready by 7 am. I want you to be ready for training."
"Yes sir." Emiri said, and watched as he stepped out of the room and shut the door behind him. She had noticed a few other people around the building once they returned— they must be the few sidekicks he had in his agency. Edgeshot didn't seem like the person to work with a lot of extra people.
Emiri just took a deep breath and got ready for bed, after she changed into her pajamas she crawled into the futon and fell asleep.

The next morning, Emiri was sitting in the training room, half asleep and in her costume. Edgeshot was standing in front of her, looking at her with an analytical gaze.
"Like I said yesterday, we're going to have daily battles." Edgeshot said. "It will be a match where we try to incapacitate or paralyze our opponent. The first one to do so wins the match for the day. Understood?"
Emiri nodded and stood up, trying to shake off the remaining grogginess.
Edgeshot took a few steps back to create some distance, "To make it a bit more fair, quirks will not be allowed during this match. The use of a quirk is an automatic loss." He looked towards a pro-her who was standing on the sidelines acting as a referee for the match.
"Ready... go!" The pro shouted and the two of them immediately started moving.
Even without his quirk Edgeshot was insanely fast. His movements were a blur to her, though she was able to dodge a few of his advances, though through the whole thing she was forced to be on the defensive there was no way she was going to be able to match Edgeshot's speed. The battle was over in just under three minutes, it ended with Emiri on the ground unable to move, though only a few seconds had passed until she received feeling back in her limbs.
"You held up well for a beginner. Most sidekicks and interns last less than a minute on their first try against me. I made the right choice in giving you an offer."
Just then, a hero ran into the room, slightly out of breath. "Mr. Edgeshot, sir! There are villains coming straight for the dojo again!"
Edgeshot looked up, the calm expression on his face unchanging. "How many?"
"About five."
"Quirks?"
"One of them has a spider mutation quirk, we're unsure about the others."
Edgeshot nodded and looked at Emiri, "You do not have the proper experience to fight against real villains yet." He bent down and picked her up, walking over to a small closet and placing her down inside. "Stay here, and be quiet." He said before shutting the door.
Say here and be quiet? I'm here to learn, what's better than learning on the field. Emiri thought, But... I shouldn't. I can't let anything slip yet. She sighed and looked around the closet she was laying in, the feeling and mobility in her limbs starting to come back. Once the pins and needles died down she got onto her knees leaned back. She sat quietly among the brooms as she listened to the sounds of a fight going on just outside, it wasn't long before she heard footsteps get closer and soon it sounded like they were in the same room as her. She peeked through a crack in the door, spotting a woman standing in the middle of the dark room, a grin on her face.
Emiri narrowed her eyes as she started to formulate a plan. She hadn't of had a lot of training from Edgeshot, but she's had training from other sources. Through the crack in the door the woman turned her head and looked straight towards the supply closet.
"I see your heat signature, little girl." The woman said as she started to walk towards the supply closet. "Your hiding place was smart but it's no use against me." The doors were opened and there was a loud crash as a bat was brought down and made contact with the wooden floor- right where Emiri had been just a few seconds ago.
So she didn't see me move. Her quirk must do something with scans. Emiri thought. She had moved from in front of the door towards the wall just before the woman had gotten to the closet and it seemed the villain hadn't seen her yet, so she had to strike before she was spotted.
Emiri turned her finger into a needle and moved quickly. Before the woman could realize what was happening, Emiri was already behind her and pressing the needle into her shoulder, near the nape of her neck. The woman tensed up before she fell on the ground, knocking over a few brooms on her way down.
The commotion seemed to of alerted some of the pro's since two of them ran into the room, looking around frantically until they laid eyes on Emiri, who was standing over the villainess's body.
"She's just paralyzed temporarily." Emiri said quickly, watching as the heroes nodded and walked over to her, wrapping the villainess' arms up and picking her up.
"Good job. You seemed to of handled yourself well." One of them said. "Though I don't know how you managed to do that..."
"Luck shot, I guess. It wasn't like she stood a chance, she seemed to have barely any fighting experience." Emiri said, puffing her cheeks up slightly. She was kind of hoping for more of a fight.
"Still. Good job." The hero said, placing a hand on Emiri's head, "We've gotten all the other villains detained so we should be good. You can come with us and wait for the cops to come and arrest these idiots."
Emiri nodded and followed the heroes. She had to agree that these villains were idiots. To her it seemed like they had no plan when attacking. A proper villain needs a plan before running into something— they need to look at every possibility before even starting to think of a plan. To her, the villains that had attacked were all just amateurs that should of waited until they were stronger or had some sort of plan other than just storming in.
When she walked out of the building, she saw that a crowd of citizens cheering. Apparently the fight had drawn a crowd of people, and the moment Edgeshot stepped out of the building with the captured villains behind him they started cheering.
"Looks like some villains attacked again, huh?" A cop said as he walked up towards Edgeshot.
"It's starting to get annoying." The pro replied with a tired sigh.
Emiri looked between the two then at the pro hero next to her. "Does this happen a lot?" She asked.
"Oh yeah. Weak villains think that if they beat someone ranked in the top 5 they'll be revered by the other villains. They normally go for Mr. Edgeshot since he's the number 5 and they think they can take him on if they have a large enough group." She let out a sigh and shook her head, "it always ends the same way."
Emiri just hummed and looked towards Edgeshot and the cop, who looked over towards her, his eyes widening as a smile appeared on his face. "Ah, you get a new sidekick?"
"No, she's an intern from U.A." Edgeshot answered, glancing over at her.
"H-hello sir. I'm Em- Heiress. It's a p-pleasure to meet you." Emiri said, bowing slightly in greeting.
"So you're taking interns this year, huh? Good to meet ya too, Heiress. I look forwards to working with you once you become a hero."
Emiri scratched her cheek, just giving him a small nod.
"Well, we'd better get these guys to the station. Good job once again!" He walked away— all the villains having been placed into one of those police trucks that could hold multiple villains at once. She watched as the truck drove away along with the few cop cars who had come with them. It took a while and a few autographs from Edgeshot, but the crowd soon started to leave as well, leaving Emiri standing with the other pros.
Emiri let out a tired sigh before going back into the building. It was only the second day of internships and she was already exhausted.
