Request: hello c: I was wondering if you can do a Loki x Reader fanfic with the song Under The Ladder by Melovin. Okay, it's me the same anon that requested the Loki x reader fic and I just want to clarify that if you can follow the storyline of the mv of Under the Ladder (melovin). Requested by anon.

Summary: You witness Loki's trial in Asgard after Thor brings him in.

Loki's POV:

Curtains down, I'm laughing at the trial. Everyone's watching. They're afraid of me. I regret nothing, maybe just that Y/n is gonna be hurt because of me. Where is she? I can't see her. The crowd is big, but what if she's not here. Could she be that hurt, that she won't even attend my trial? What I did was right. Oooh, Help me to unravel , the truth that lies beneath, Tangle of my innocence inside. All I wanted to do is rule lesser beings, is that something wrong? Well...Faith's bout to be severed, we'll see what I'll end up with.

Y/N's POV:

Ooh Loki, why do you have to keep doing this? Why am I not enough for you? I told you, your ambition will be the end of us, why did you have to do that? Here he comes. I can't bare to see him in chains, he shouldn't see me like that. He has enough on his plate. This won't get any better, I'll just
walk under the ladder... I don't know if I should be mad at you or run down to hug you. Ughh..Shout out just one reason what's this for. Why did you have to ruin this?

You can see that whatever the weather, That the wind's always there, always fair, oh . Maybe your father will forgive you my love. If the wind is fair, no matter the weather, then maybe your father's love for you is higher than your crime.

I ran towards Loki. The guards were about to stop me, but Odin motioned to them to let me pass. Loki turned around and saw me running towards him. He gave me a smile and I was finally in his arms. I hugged him tightly like never before. "ooh Loki, what did you do?" I asked, not wanting an answer, but he gave me one anyway.

"I had to try. I wanted to build an empire for you. I wanted you to rule by my side. I wanted to give you the world" he tried to justify his actions.

"I never asked for the world. All I ever wanted was you by my side, but that wasn't enough for you, was it? I told you your ambition  is gonna be the end of us, but you didn't listen and now- now who knows what will happen to you" I caressed his cheeks and he didn't know what to say.

"Y/n if you could please come up here. The trial is about to begin" Odin told me to get to the throne and stand next to him, Thor and Frigga.

"everything is gonna be alright. You'll be out of here" I reassured him and did as Odin said.

"The only reason I'll spare your life, is because Frigga and Y/n begged me too. My love for them over-weighs my planned punishment for you. You will live in a cell for the rest of your life. That's my decision" Odin informed him
"Desperate thoughts, your hope calls you a liar" Loki told me. He knew how much hope I had, for him to walk away, but fate has something else written for us.
Fear begins to revel inside of me. I'm afraid he's gonna do something now, like try to escape, that would change Odin's mind.

My fear came true, he tried to escape. I know him too well. I'm praying and hoping he'll keep him alive. Odin opened his mouth to speak, but after noticing how tense I was, he didn't. Thankfully, all he said was take him away. I felt relief, Loki's gonna live, this can't get any better , considering what he has just done.

I went to visit him in his cell. He didn't show me his true self. He hides his feelings behind a mask, hoping that I won't notice. I will not say anything about that, it will only make things worse. But I can't continue this, I have to think about myself as well. What kind of relationship would we have if he's imprisoned till the day he dies. He seemed to notice what I'm thinking about.

"You're here to break up with me, are you not? Do it If you dare" he dared me but I couldn't look him in the eyes.

"You know we can't continue like this, Loki. It will only bring us more pain" I tried to explain to him.

"so what you're waiting for ?" he asked as if wanting me to do it.

"I don't want to be the one who lets go. You know I can't leave you like that, if you need me. It has to be you. Say the words Loki. End this" I begged him.

"If I do this, will you be happy? Will you stop thinking about me? Will you stop visiting me? Will you stop loving me?" he asked and his voice began to break.

"I'll never stop loving you my love. But we both need to be sat free. I must stop thinking about you, but I won't be able to live without seeing you. If we stayed together, it will only bring us pain. My heart would shatter at the state you're in and your heart would break for seeing me looking at you like that" a tear fell off my cheek.

"Alright Y/n. I set you free. Go, live your life and move on. I want you to. It would make me happy to see you happy" he caressed my cheeks.

"Thank you. This is the most selfless thing you've ever done" I kissed him one last time and walked away. But then I turned around and told him: "Nothing but your will sets you on fire. Fire lasts forever. If you don't put that fire out, you'll never be able to truly live" then I walked away for good.
