I took a deep breath, before answering,

"Actually that's my girlfriend" I say, rubbing the back of my neck.

"Oh, sorry, bro"

"I'm not your bro,Cameron"

He awkwardly shifted in his chair before facing forward. It's not like I wanted to be rude to him, remembering how Emma looked at him , and treated him just drives me off a wall. Heck, if I had met him without her we could've been total buds, but that won't happen for a while.

Then again I do need another friend in my life, Alex seems to be doing fine now that he's got a girlfriend and I have Emma, who I hang out with all the time. Some people even call me obsessive. Why not take a chance on this kid? I could use a friend again.

"Hey, Cameron?" I whispered

"What?"

"I'm sorry for being rude,"

"- It's totally fine, I came on a little to strong"

"Cameron don't worry about it, it's my fault for snapping"

Emma's P.O.V.

When lunch came around the corner I was hoping to find Austin, but he wasn't at the table. I don't know why I felt so anxious, and apprehensive at the same time. I want to get it over with but, I'm scared of what he'll say. Instead of sticking around in the lunch room,I just hang around my locker.

"Hey! You!" I hear someone call, I pull my head out my locker to see Cameron. I push my hair out of my face, an wave back.

"Can I help you?" I ask, wondering why such a hot person would be talking to me.

"Yeah, I uh..." He looked dazed

"Cameron?" I panicked, Is something wrong with my face?! is something in my teeth?!

"No sorry, you're just really pretty." he coughed "I uh, need directions to the- um bathroom?" It's like his eyes were only on mines.

"Yeah, around the corner" I laughed. He waved goodbye as he passed me and from the corner of my eye, I could see Austin strolling to my locker.

"Hey babe" he kissed my cheek.

"Thank God, I thought you were mad at me."

"Why would I be?" He seemed confused, but I knew he was faking it.

I gave him a look that said it all, "Emma, sure I was a little bit frustrated but I'm over it" his arms snuck around my waist,

"Positive?"

"Hell yeah." He hugged me, then shortly left for class.

Today, I had to walk home in what seems like forever. I began walking with Katie just like old times until an unexpected Cameron shows up.

"Hey! Emma,Right?" He called, and I nodded slightly.

"How can I help you now?" I laughed.

"Well, I thought I'd actually walk home with you... I guess,and I saw you back there, and I didn't want to be lonely." He shyly smiles.

"Okay, but it's not like I can walk you home."

"You're right."

Katie left with Sebastian, leaving Cameron and I alone. It turns out that Cameron lived in the same neighborhood as me.

"Soo.." I begin. "How do you like Miami?"

"It's pretty different from California" he chuckled, " There's not that many girls chasing after me here."

"I see, so did you meet?-

"Austin?"

"Yeah,"

"You know he came off a bit rude when I brought you up, and then shortly after he apologized" Cameron chuckled ", Its like you're sacred to him or something"

"I know how he can be and it's only me to blame, because we literally don't talk to anyone else but each other"

"Yeah, well I'll see you later."

As I retrieved my keys from my bag, from the corner of my eye I could see Cameron entering the house right next door.

I dropped my keys and quickly snatched them off the ground fumbling to open the door. I trip, finally opening the door, I launch my hands up in hopes of softening the fall.

"Emma?!" I hear footsteps coming towards me, " What are you doing on the floor?" My stepmom laughed.

"I just saw something I didn't expect to see.." My hands moved to cover my face, "he's there as happy as ever"

"Why are you so bothered by it, Austin already moved back just not there-"

"That's not the point!" I snapped

"Honey, look we have new neighbors that's all nothing has changed."

I sigh deeply and realize I'm just being stupid.

"Help I've fallen and I can't get up" a smirk plays on my lips, as I move my hands away from my face. "Life alert, please!"

She lends me a hand as we exchange a couple laughs. These are the few moments I can say, that I actually like my stepmom. I trudge to my room and lay face down on my bed. My phone begins buzzing in my pocket, and I already know who it is.

"Hello?" I say, lifting my face from my bed.

"Hey, are you free?" Austin asks,when am I not? I have no other life.

Wow.

"Yeah I am,"

"Alright I'll be there in a few."

It sounded like he was overly happy, anxious like. Maybe I'm not the only one going wherever we're going. I'm totally fine with that.

I look outside my window, to see Austin honking waiting for me to come outside. I quickly slip on my vans, and proceed down the staircase through the door. From the corner of my eye, I see Cameron walking down the sidewalk to Austin's car.

"Shit" I muttered

Austin's face went blank for a second, but I still got in the car. Cameron entered slowly, but surely. Of course nothing was to be said, Austin just drove wherever we were going,

I just hope it wasn't down a cliff.
