Chapter 64

I quickly took off on my feet once more, this time I'm not gonna stop until I get home.

At least a billion thoughts run through my mind.

What about Austin?

Are they even true friends?

Grey? Was he put up to everything?

What the hell was the bet?!

Once I reach my door, I quickly turn the knob and bump into my stepmom.

"You better have a good reason for landing on top of me."

"Sorry" I move off of he quickly.

"Young lady I haven't seen you in a while where have you been the past few nights?"

"Katie's.." I lie

"Your lying" she chuckled", you may fool your father with that, but I'm not stupid."

"Look I don't have time to argue with you." I say trying to walk up the stairs.

"Oh but you have time to being a little whore at that Austin kids house?"

"Your not my real mother!"

"That doesn't mean shit! I'm still your guardian!"

"You haven't even adopted me!"

"How do you know that?!"

"I know a lot of things honey"

"Emma you will come back down these stairs!"

"And you will shut the hell up!" I finally shut my door and hide in my closet.

I finally pull out my phone and text Austin to come pick me up. I'd be anywhere but here fighting with my Stepmom. As always he replies with a phone call, and I'm not sure if I want to even talk to him. I ignore the call, and wait in my room for a honk of some sort.

I didn't think Austin was the type to bet on girls, or Alex. I thought they were clean of bullshit! As mad as I am, I'm scared to confront Austin. Too many things have happened In the past few days.

Shortly I hear the honk of his red range rover. I quickly open my door and run straight downstairs making a b-line to the door.

"Is everything okay?" He asks as I enter the car.

"Yeah I'm fine, just drive"

"Where are we going, babe?"

"Don't call me that" I snap, crossing my arms.

"Uhm, you sure your fine?"

"Yes, Austin."

He drives to his place and parks in the lot, pulling his keys out of the ignition.

"Tell me about the bet." I say, a little too sudden.

"Shit" he muttered

"Austin!"

"When you first moved here, Alex and I made a bet on who would date you first. I happened to get to you first, but Emma trust me I had genuine feelings for you way before I asked you out!"

"Alex told me the same thing!"

"Well I love you ,and if he doesn't like it, he can go fuck himself." Austin says grabbing my hand.

"I don't know what to believe anymore..."

"C'mon babe, lets go inside" he hops out of the car, and I do the same.

He opens the door for me and I land right on the couch. Austin sits next to me and grabs my hand again.

"What did he tell you?"
